Job Summary:This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate authorization of spine surgery procedures. The ideal candidate will bring a solid understanding of healthcare authorization processes, experience in spine surgery approvals, and demonstrate a proactive, go-getter attitude.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate the preauthorization process for spine surgery cases, ensuring compliance with payer guidelines.Submit, track, and follow up on all insurance authorizations and pre-certifications to ensure timely approvals.Communicate effectively with surgeons, patients, and insurance companies to clarify and resolve authorization issues.Review and verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to surgery scheduling.Ensure accuracy in documentation and maintain detailed records of all authorizations and communications.Identify and troubleshoot delays or denials, escalating when needed to resolve issues promptly.Stay updated on insurance policies and regulatory changes affecting preauthorization processes.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in healthcare preauthorization, with a focus on spine surgery authorization.Strong knowledge of insurance guidelines, medical terminology, and healthcare authorization workflows.Proven ability to work efficiently in a remote setting with minimal supervision.Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work with urgency and precision under tight deadlines.Professional demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency with pre-certification software and systems.
