LF Markets USA, a division of Li & Fung, has an exciting opportunity for an
Assistant Designer
to join their Womenswear Team. The Assistant Designer will support the seasonal design development process, from concept to delivery, by assisting in the creation and execution of original, trend-appropriate design concepts that meet market needs and drive sales. This role will ensure the timely execution of each stage in the process while supporting the design team.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesAssist the Design Manager in researching trends, market information, and conducting competitive analysis.Help assemble presentation boards for meetings, under the guidance of the Designers.Maintain and organize an efficient fabric and trim library.Create detailed flat sketches and assist in updating line sheets when necessary.Support fabric and trim research and manage follow-ups through overseas communication.Track sample request charts to ensure timely shipments.Assist in editing relevant prints when needed.Organize all materials and components needed for presentations.Demonstrate a sense of urgency in managing requests, deadlines, and workload efficiently.Participate in internal and client-facing fittings, taking detailed notes to ensure accurate documentation of design specifications and requirements.Assist in updating charts relevant to the department and product development.Organize supplies for the Design department, including Pantone and CSI orders.Contribute to trend imagery/research and color forecasting with a keen eye for detail.Maintain a strong interest in Women's Contemporary brands and trends.Communicate with the overseas team regarding product development for prototypes and samples.Assist in ordering or returning any samples as needed.Skills and Requirements
1-2 years of design experience.Strong attention to detail.Ability to balance meticulousness with efficiency.Focused on deadlines and able to adapt to achieve goals with minimal supervision.Highly organized in all aspects of the role.Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.Experience with 3-D Browzwear or similar 3D programs is a plus.Eager to learn new technologies and different approaches to problem-solving.Ability to maintain focus and efficiency under pressure.High level of professionalism in all settings.Ability to work across different categories, from Outerwear to Ready to Wear.Positive attitude towards achieving results and adapting to the needs of the role.Able to work independently with guidance and support when needed.Compensation/Benefits:
The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $50,000.00 - $55,000.00. The offered salary or salary range for this position will vary based on role requirements, skill set and years of experience.Our Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, company holidays
