Overview

The Product Manager is the subject matter expert and manages all go-to-market activities and roadmap planning related to the product line to gain market share and profitability. The Product Manager is responsible for the end-to-end development and lifecycle management of hardware and software solutions, from initial concept through to launch and beyond.

Responsibilities

What you will get to do:

As an individual contributor, this position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams

(other Panasonic product managers, engineering, design, marketing, and sales, third-party contacts)

to ensure that Panasonic products meet market demands, and to expand sales of the existing Panasonic ProAV product portfolio by integration with existing third-party products or original product development.

Day-to-day activities include, but are not limited to, promotion planning, marketing communication, life-cycle management, SKU and price management, monthly demand forecasting, non-standard sales quote validation, inventory management, competitive analysis, product training and education, and sales/partner support.

Product Strategy:

Conduct a thorough analysis of the ProAV product portfolio and user research to identify opportunities, define unmet user needs, and evaluate the competitive landscape.

Develop and maintain a clear product vision and roadmap for hardware and software solutions that aligns with Panasonic’s business objective of generating 30% of its total revenue from products that are not developed by the Japanese Factory teams.

New Business Development:

Work with targeted customers, engineering, sales, and business development to identify, analyze, propose and test new product/ business opportunities that will accelerate Product Category growth and profitability across all vertical markets. This includes Panasonic products, as well as 3rd party accessories and solutions.

Requirements Definition:

Gather, analyze, and prioritize product requirements from stakeholders, ensuring that both technical and user-focused perspectives are considered.

Collaboration:

Identify and negotiate with third-party vendors to create successful sales partnerships including any additional product development and addressing technical or legal challenges.

Project Management:

Lead product development timelines, ensuring milestones are met and resources are effectively allocated.

Testing and Validation:

Oversee the testing phases to ensure product quality and functionality meet specifications, including alpha/beta testing with users.

Launch Strategy:

Develop go-to-market strategies, including pricing, positioning, and promotional plans, to maximize product adoption and success.

Stakeholder Communication:

Maintain regular communication with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates on product status, challenges, and successes.

Continuous Improvement:

Gather user feedback post-launch and analyze product performance, making recommendations for future iterations and enhancements.

Qualifications

Technical hardware/software background with the ability to communicate with Product Engineering and Product Planning teams and translate complex concepts into product requirements and marketing terms.

Proven experience in market analysis and providing product direction to factory R&D / Engineering teams.

Proven success in launching new product, market messaging and product life cycle management.

Experience managing pricing and programs for channel (distribution and resellers), and direct customers

Education & Experience

:

Working knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110 and SMPTE ST 2022-7 AV networking required.

Working knowledge of media production workflows and video control room technology required.

Experience with professional video systems and technology.

Experience with professional A/V system applications.

Familiarity with live video screen management a plus.

College degree desired in Business Development or Engineering.

5-7 years or equivalent experience in Product Management and/or Product Marketing.

The salary range below is just one component of Panasonic Connect's total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.

Salary Range

$125,000 - $145,000 + Bonus REQ-147886
