This position significantly influences the College's storytelling, branding, recruitment, retention, alumni engagement, and philanthropic efforts by capturing, editing, and producing both long- and short-form multimedia content for all communication channels.The ideal candidate excels at creative, story-driven, character-focused documentary-style storytelling while handling research-based projects that require clear, concise explanations of complex topics. They occasionally take on high-level video projects involving sensitive messaging or intricate concepts, necessitating sound judgment and discretion. Comfort and professionalism in interviewing a wide range of subjects-from casual conversations with students to insightful discussions with senior administrators or executives-are essential, along with the ability to establish respectful rapport.This role demands producing high-quality, engaging video content that reflects Endicott's unique stories and mission. The Video Production Specialist will manage complex, high-visibility projects, collaborate with senior leadership, and deliver compelling content to diverse audiences. Strong storytelling skills, ability to provide advanced creative direction, and exceptional communication abilities are key, as is the capacity to direct interview subjects to make them feel at ease on camera. The ideal candidate should be comfortable operating independently or as part of a larger crew.The position offers a dynamic range of projects. One day you might be filming a Halloween-themed video about Endicott's haunted residence halls or capturing a "day in the life" of students at their internships, while the next could involve recapping Commencement or exploring the history of Mingo Beach with a faculty historian. The Video Production Specialist will work closely with the Senior Director of Content & Communications and Social Media & Content Coordinator, collaborate with the campus photographer, and occasionally coordinate with freelance videographers or production teams.30% of the time: Pre-ProductionCommunicate clear vision through the use of storyboards or multimedia visuals to gain stakeholder buy-inExplain visuals through written notesDefine key parameters such as camera angles, lighting, attire, props, etc.Scout, secure, and stage locationsResource, cast, and schedule subjectsCoordinate set-up to ensure that key parameters and equipment are in place30% of Time: Perform Videography & DirectingDirect and film video shootsOperate camera, lighting, audio, and related equipment30% of Time: Post-ProductionUse Adobe Premiere to combine footage, stills, graphics, animation, sound effects, narration, and music into digital storytelling videosUse digital animation software, such as Adobe After Effects, to create animations andmotion graphicsCollaborate and communicate with CCM team and internal and external stakeholders to implement edits through Wrike project management platformUpload completed videos to the Youtube channel for distributionProvide native files (as needed) for other platforms (Instagram, TikTok, etc)10% of Time: Maintain an organized video archive Upload, tag, and organize video assets into the Libris image galleryArchive video files into video storageBachelor's degree required. Three to five years of experience. Strong creative reel with technical knowledge of video production principles, practices, and techniques. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere, After Effects, and Media Encoder. Knowledge of social media platforms and the specifics of creating and delivering video content for them. Ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines. Willingness to take direction and be a positive, collaborative force on the team. Creative decision-making skills and ability to make administrative and procedural decisions with limited supervision. Photography and photo editing experience is a plus. Operates with a "can-do" demeanor despite uncertainties and fluctuating priorities. Sense of humor is a must! Occasional nights and weekend work as needed.
