The Lundquist Institute (TLI) seeks a dynamic Digital and Social Media Marketing Manager ("DSMMM") who can develop and implement strategic marketing and communications initiatives that support and amplify TLI's mission. The ideal candidate will be a skilled writer and storyteller, with a strong focus on content creation, social media management, website oversight, and project management. The DSMMM will play a critical role in producing high-quality content and utilizing digital platforms to engage diverse audiences, elevate the Institute's brand, strengthen community engagement, and enhance philanthropic support.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications and Marketing, the DSMMM will help execute TLI's comprehensive marketing and communications strategy. The role will collaborate across the organization to produce engaging content for various platforms, including the Lundquist website, social media, event communications, newsletters and digital/printed collateral, and will also produce photos and videos to support these efforts.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing & Communications Content Creation
Develop and manage a content calendar to ensure timely, relevant external communications that align to organizational and departmental strategic priorities.
Utilize tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp and Eventbrite to create engaging event materials, social media content, email campaigns, newsletters and other digital/printed collateral. Manage and maintain the organization's photo and video library by organizing and categorizing content for easy access and use.
Perform basic image editing and manipulation using Adobe Photoshop or Creative Suite, ensuring images meet required standards for end-use.
Ensure all designs, graphics and collateral adhere to TLI's brand identity and guidelines. Preferred candidates will have experience operating professional photography and videography equipment to capture high-quality content at onsite events.
Social Media Management
Develop and implement social media strategies that align with organizational priorities, driving engagement, email list growth, social media following, and philanthropic contributions.
Ensure content is effectively tailored for each social media platform to maximize reach and engagement.
Monitor and analyze social media trends, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance brand visibility and engagement.
Track, measure and report on digital marketing performance regularly, including metrics for email marketing, social media following, and engagement.
Preferred candidates will have a strong understanding of SEO/SEM, accessibility requirements, and usability best practices.
Website Management & Optimization
Oversee and execute institutional web content updates, including creating landing pages for key initiatives, campaigns and events.
Optimize and upload text, images, captions, photo credits, and permissions information to ensure compliance with accessibility standards and legal requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop and enhance content for digital storytelling, proactively suggesting updates and new content for various digital platforms.
Team Collaboration & Development
Ability to multi-task effectively while demonstrating strong organizational skills. Exhibit a collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a positive and cooperative attitude.
Commitment to continuous learning by participating in external training, conferences and team development meetings to enhance individual and organizational marketing and communications expertise.
Preferred candidates will have experience in an academic or research-focused communications environment.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in digital marketing, social media marketing, or related roles.
Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, trends, and best practices.
Proficiency in social media platforms and analytics tools.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
