(BA) has an immediate opening in its Coral Gables office for a full-time Senior Interior Designer (10+ years of experience) that is looking to join a creative, collaborative team. The ideal candidate will have primary responsibility for project planning, development and execution, and management of technical documentation. The candidate will be directly responsible for design and translating client requirements from concept to completion and will lead project teams and mentor junior designers.Responsibilities
Design interior projects and participate in all phases of design development
Collaborate with new and existing clientsKnowledge of finish options and proper applications according to project budgetPreparation of presentations and design drawingsCoordinate design teamsDevelop and coordinate detailed design concepts with ability to develop functional requirements and project-design criteria.Demonstrate understanding of the architectural design process and integration of interior design concepts with ability to develop design element components.Coordinate integration of basic engineering systems into the overall project design.Respond to technical implications of design decisions.Facilitate firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Experience with hospitality and commercial projects from strategic planning and conceptual design through construction drawings and construction administrationThorough knowledge of the Interior Architectural practice with an emphasis on programming, planning, design, codes, building materials, and construction methodsA working knowledge of structural, civil, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering systems for proper project coordinationUnderstanding of current code requirementsMust possess a strong design portfolio of works depicting projects developedAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Self-motivated in meeting deadlines and improving process and deliverables.Must possess the ability to coordinate with architecture project consultants and engineers.Must have thorough knowledge of building systems, ADA compliance requirements and Florida Building Codes.Strong competency in interior design specifications, calculations and industry standards, and application of building codes and specificationsCollaborative and professional work ethicQualifications
