Overview
Due to continued growth, Nuclear Services Group is looking for a Designer onsite at Crane Clean Energy Center (formerly TMI 1) in Middletown, PA. If you are ready to make a meaningful impact and shape the future of engineering, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities
Prepare accurate layout and detail drawings of parts, assemblies, and related items on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexitySupport engineers with any changes to drawingsPerform support design for installation in nuclear power plantsPrepare design drawings, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, structural/civil, or instrumentation & controls drawingsPerform walkdowns at Nuclear Power Plants and generate walkdown reportsUnderstand and follow all organizational, area/departmental, and client procedures, safety policies, and directivesConduct self-checks of created drawings, sketches, and related data to proactively identify factors that may negatively affect final productMay review the work of other designers/drafters and provide mentoring and leadershipWork independently of engineers but confer with engineers and other designers for design concept interpretationQualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field, typically has 4 years of design experience or Associate's Degree with typically a minimum 8 years of experience.Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programsAbility to utilize 2D applications to prepare engineering drawingsAdvanced knowledge in the practices of an engineering discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned disciplineExcellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of designAdvanced knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD and MicroStation3D experience is a plus in one or more of the following software: Plant3D, SmartPlant, Solidworks, Inventor, and/or Revit.Must be able to get badged at a nuclear facility.Must be able to perform plant walkdowns, crawling, climbing ladders, and navigating uneven terrain.This position may offer per diem for non local candidates.
