The position is an on-site position at the Corvallis campus with the option for some hybrid work. Candidates must show an aptitude in creating fun, engaging and informative digital content from a student prospective for use on the CoEd social media channels and website. This would include working both in front and behind the camera in cooperation with the college's Marketing and Communications staff.The College of Education contributes to major national dialogues concerning research and the promotion of social justice in (1) the success of English language learners of all ages; (2) developmentally appropriate pedagogy for all ages; (3) learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics inside and outside of school; (4) the preparation of mental health and school counselors; (5) adult and higher education leadership. We develop change agents in the form of formal and informal educators, counselors, and leaders. These change agents identify issues and act towards social justice and the full development of human potential and society.As a part of the Division of Arts and Sciences, we support the division's campus-wide role in providing a well-rounded, compelling educational experience. Our work seeks to enhance and extend the historic democratic mission of public education: to prepare all citizens, across their lifetime for full participation in a culturally diverse and technical world. This position, as with all positions within the College of Education, is directly responsible for advancing the mission of the College.Position Duties The candidate will create new video and photographic content for the College of Education for use online or in social media platforms such as LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, X, Threads, TikTok and Facebook.The candidate will assist with production and editing of digital content such as short-form videos, graphics or photo features for a variety of uses.This position is in-person on the OSU Corvallis campus and is based out of Furman Hall. Candidates will work mostly on the Corvallis campus with CoEd staff and students; or visit local K-12 schools, OSU facilities, community colleges or other community partners in and around the Willamette Valley area to produce needed video content.The candidate will work with the Director of Marketing and the Communications Coordinator to strategize content, create original materials and conduct interviews as needed.The candidate will troubleshoot problems with the Director of Marketing and the Communications Coordinator to identify solutions and implement corrections as needed.The candidate will interact with the Dean, Director of Marketing, Communications Coordinator, other student workers, faculty and staff to create engaging videos and photographic content in a timely and efficient manner.The candidate will assist with other projects that enhance the student experience at the College of Education, including creating and inventorying swag, helping with giveaways and promotions, assisting at seasonal events, assisting with Dam Proud Day and other OSU Foundation fundraisers, other duties as assigned.Project work:The candidate will work with the Director of Marketing and the Communications Coordinator to create realistic time management strategies for project completion.The candidate will manage timelines and assess ability to meet deadlines.The candidate will work independently or with minimal supervision.The candidate will possess good photographic and video skills.The candidate will possess good public speaking and interviewing skills.The candidate will demonstrate competent working knowledge of other graphic and production software including Canva and iMovie.Other Duties:Complete any required training to a satisfactorily level.Work with CoEd faculty, staff, students and community partners as needed.Attend special events or programs as needed, some of which may be after hours or on weekends.Maintain schedules and keep deadlines.Communicate concerns or difficulties to Marketing and Communications staff in a timely manner.Other duties as assigned.
