Job Summary

The job of Technology Support Specialist is done for the purpose/s of supporting the educational process by providing an increased level of technical support including installing, upgrading and configuring workstations within the District; resolving software and hardware problems; providing help desk support; and setting passwords and security levels.

Requirements / Qualifications

In-house recruitment available to current SUSD contracted employees only.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Community college and/or vocational school degree with study in job-related area. Two years of experience in a computer hardware/software user support environment has been found to be a minimum requirement for successful job performance. Relevant experience, education, certificates and/or licenses may be substituted.

SELECTION PROCESS: All applications will be screened to verify current SUSD employment and ensure applicant meets minimum qualifications. The process will include a written examination for all qualified applicants. Those candidates achieving a passing score of 70% will be invited to the oral examination. Written exams will be scheduled for November 22, 2024 and oral exams will be scheduled for December 3, 2024. Passing score is 70% on each exam. An eligibility list will be established and the top three ranks of candidates from the list will receive a departmental interview.
