As Director of Financial Content at Agora Media, you'll drive the reboot of long-standing publishing brand Money Morning, building it into a traffic leader for investors and reliable source of qualified leads for our many ‘finpub’ and adjacent advertising partners: orchestrating a content machine that engages e-letter subscribers and generates new readers, built to suit a mix of organic and paid funnels.
Agora Media is laser-focused on developing high-quality traffic and leads in core verticals that will be responsive to and engaged with the messaging of our affiliate partners. Your mission is to deliver editorial that captivates and excites. Working closely with our Monetization Director to identify potentially high-converting audiences, and in tandem with your sister team in the political/ideological vertical, you will develop a content plan and network of contributors. It’s a model working well for our core property The Horn News, and you will help develop a unique flavor for in finance with Money Morning.
On this small but growing team, you’ll need to be an effective player-coach. As writer, you’ll be or will handcraft the first touchpoint for the audience—their guide through our content, the person responsible for keeping them coming back for more. As editor and manager of the contributor network, you’ll ensure a steady flow of content that meets your high standards and adds value for readers. Without you, the funnel would falter, but with your expertise, it thrives.

Key Responsibilities
- Content Strategy & Execution
- Develop Compelling Content Strategies: Build and manage an editorial team and formulate daily, weekly, monthly content plans that develop and entertain our audience.
- Manage the Team & Pipeline: Build and nurture a healthy staff and freelance content pipeline that feeds the strategy.
- Performance Tracking & Analysis
- Analyze KPIs: Work with our operations lead to identify trends, successes, and areas needing improvement to optimize content and campaigns – from email engagement to web traffic trends, understand how your content impacts the bottom line.
- Lead Generation Asset Development
- Plan and Execute Campaigns: Work with the media buying team to develop compelling lead magnets and funnels, launching new experiments at a rapid clip.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Build and Align Teams: Drive progress on core KPIs and align strategies by driving dialog between your editorial team, marketing, operations, and management.
Requirements
- Editorial & Copywriting Expertise
- Proven Editorial Experience: Ability to create, edit, and manage high-quality content in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Compelling ‘Short Copy’ Skills: Expertise in writing engaging copy that resonates with target audiences and drives action toward affiliate offers – lead magnets, warm-up series, lift notes, space ads, and other hooks that speak to the audience.
- Data Analysis
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in interpreting campaign performance data to optimize lead generation efforts.
- Google Analytics Experience: Skilled in using GA to track website performance, user behavior, and campaign success, providing actionable insights.
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Excellent Communication: Strong ability to lead meetings and collaborate across various teams.
- Project Management: Highly organized with the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Technical Proficiency
- WordPress Mastery: Proficient in managing and publishing content and SEO optimization; able to communicate changes – new templates, modified functionality, etc – to development clearly and concisely.
- Skills to Self-Publish: With hundreds of emails and articles posting each week, must have the ability to complement production resources and pitch in with basic production, including light HTML and CSS to produce professional, high-performing content.
Compensation Range - $110,000 - $130,000
