We are seeking a talented and motivated Marketing Intern to join our dynamic team as we continue to grow in the government contracting (GovCon) space.
Position Overview
The Marketing Intern will play an essential role in supporting Summit's marketing initiatives, focusing on thought leadership, branding, and digital content. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the GovCon industry while working closely with our marketing and business development teams. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with strong writing skills, a keen interest in government consulting, and an eagerness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the creation and scheduling of digital content, including blog posts, case studies, podcasts, and social media updates related to Summit's activities.
Support the development and execution of a consistent content calendar that aligns with industry trends, events, and Summit's service offerings.
Help develop and refine a brand toolkit, ensuring that all communications are aligned with Summit's brand identity and messaging.
Conduct market research on current trends in the GovCon space to help identify new thought leadership opportunities.
Collaborate with the marketing team on initiatives related to thought leadership, brand positioning, and strategic communications.
Monitor engagement with digital content, track metrics, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing campaigns.
Provide general support for marketing activities such as organizing webinars, managing email campaigns, and contributing to proposals and business development efforts.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.) and content management tools.
Interest in government contracting, public policy, or consulting.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Basic understanding of digital marketing tools and concepts, such as SEO, email marketing, and analytics, is a plus.
Must have strong collaboration skills and a proactive attitude, with an ability to work within a team environment and with staff of all levels.
Preferred:
Flexibility and willingness to take on a variety of new tasks on a project-by-project basis
Experience with Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator an asset
Experience with a CRM system an asset
