Office Manager and Communication Specialist About the Position The Silver Spring Learning Center/Leo Bernstein Jewish Academy is a growing and warm community school located in Kemp Mill, MD. We are seeking an Office Manager/Communication Specialist to join our team. This role functions as the glue to the day-to-day operations of our school. The ideal candidate would be computer savvy, kind, compassionate, positive, and of course, kid-friendly. Responsibilities: Initiate and draft all formal communication to the parent body and community, and present it to the leadership team for review. Be the point of contact to parents and teachers for late drop off, early pick up, forgotten lunch, etc. Greet and assist onsite guests. Take ownership of the technical side of processing scholarship vouchers. Answer inbound telephone calls. Plan and schedule school events. Develop and implement filing and communication systems. Maintain office supplies and equipment. Perform all other office and communication tasks as needed. Qualifications: Understands the importance of a strong, unified, and transparent partnership between the school and parents to ensure positive growth and development for each child. A can do positive attitude - can tolerate frustration with positivity, humor, patience, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Ability to prioritize and multitask. Ability to work a smartphone. Strong organization skills, for example, attention to detail. Previous experience in office administration/communication is a plus. Previous experience with Brightwheel is a plus. Proficiency in Hebrew is a plus. Schedule: This is a full-time in-person position. Hours can be 8:30am-4:30pm or 9am-5pm, with early Fridays in the Winter. Pay: Commensurate with experience.
