Job Summary
The Program Change Order Expeditor, also known as a Value Stream Specialist, is responsible for ensuring efficient processing of ship repair change orders.
This role focuses on preventing backlogs and expediting the flow of change orders from receipt to final processing, which includes mark-up, pricing, negotiations, schedule integration, and materials or subcontract requisitions.
The Program Change Order Expeditor will identify process inefficiencies and propose solutions, maintaining seamless coordination across departments.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage the end-to-end process of ship repair change orders, from initial receipt through pricing, negotiation, and settlement.Maintain open communication with program stakeholders and management to provide status updates and address issues promptly.Coordinate closely with departments such as procurement, contracts, operations, warehousing, and production to ensure smooth execution of change orders.Perform clerical tasks, maintain accurate logs, and adhere to timelines, procedures, and established guidelines.Identify process delays, tracking and documenting them for potential improvement.Expedite backlog clearance by preparing subcontractor and material requisitions, as well as purchase orders, for approval as necessary.Required Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and other technical documents.Strong communication, writing, presentation, and organizational skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.Capability to obtain and maintain a DBIDs.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with shipyard and defense change order estimating practices.
