Automation Team's key role:The Automation Engineering team is the team that delivers, maintain, and improves our strategic, custom-developed platform as a service (PaaS) solution, including the continuous integration/continuous delivery toolchain for multiple agile application teams delivering custom-built software. This team is responsible for designing and implementing container(k8s) and resource provisioning platform and automating processes also, ensures the usability of the tools/platform by executing and maintaining the environment. This platform is a product used by developers. It is software-defined and must operate to the standard required to protect the organization while allowing the development teams to move fast. This means the automation engineering team will be a cross-functional team combining Infrastructure professionals and developers with other expertise, such as security and DBA.

The IT Infrastructure Image Creator plays a crucial role in driving the adoption of standards in our multi-cloud environments. This position is responsible for developing, designing, and maintaining standardized images for operating systems, servers, and container images running in our supported languages. This role ensures the creation, deployment, and updating of system images to guarantee security, performance, and compliance across all IT environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, virtualization, system administration, and image creation tools.

Responsibilities:Image Creation and Management:

Develop and maintain operating system images for linux and windows servers running in Vmware, AWS and Azure environments.Develop container images to support java, nodejs, dotnet core and python languages.Design and customize images based on organizational needs and security requirements.Ensure images are up-to-date with the latest patches, security updates, and drivers.

Infrastructure Support:

Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to design efficient and secure infrastructure images.Provide support for system upgrades, migrations, and configuration management.Troubleshoot image-related issues and optimize performance.utomation and Deployment:

Use automation tools (e.g., SCCM, Packer, Ansible) for deployment and management of images.Develop and maintain scripts for automated image deployment and updates.Manage large-scale deployment of images across various systems and devices.Documentation and Compliance:

Create and maintain documentation on image creation processes, procedures, and best practices.Ensure compliance with industry standards, data protection regulations, and security policies.Implement and manage version control for system images.Performance Optimization:

Monitor the performance of deployed images and systems.Work on improving system start-up times, application compatibility, and hardware utilization.Continuously evaluate new technologies and tools to enhance image creation processes.Collaboration and Training:

Work closely with IT teams to understand their needs and provide them with updated infrastructure images.Train junior IT staff and other departments on image deployment and management.

Education:Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of operating system imaging tools (eg: packer)Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure)Familiar with automation tools like SCCM, Ansible, Powershell, bash scriptingSolid understanding of network protocols, security policies, and infrastructure standards.Knowledge of system administration (Windows Servers or Red Hat variant Linux) and hardware configurations.Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).Knowledge of Cloud config to automate images post provisioning to support autoscale.Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects.

Preferred Skills:

Certifications such as AWS Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals.Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
