This role will be pivotal in redefining online dating for Gen Z and the way people around the world connect. This is a unique opportunity to drive content design across our app's multiple touchpoints, directly shaping user experience and driving innovation. Collaborating with a dynamic team of product managers, designers, researchers, marketers, and brand specialists, you'll be instrumental in crafting and refining how we communicate with Tinder's users.
As a Lead Content Designer, you will develop and execute large-scale content strategies that align with Tinder's goal of sparking connections. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive innovation in content design, exploring new ways to engage users and improve their experience. You will ensure cohesive and compelling content across all touchpoints, and will establish and maintain content standards and accessibility guidelines to ensure consistency and inclusivity. Finally, you will use data and user research to measure the effectiveness of content and continuously optimize for better results.
Where you'll work:
This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration two times per week. This position is located in West Hollywood, and/or San Francisco Bay Area.
In this role, you will:Solve Complex Problems: Use design thinking to address complex issues with human-centered solutions and brand-aligned storytelling. Simplify and Communicate: Translate intricate features into clear, actionable in-product flows and text for UI elements, notifications, and error messages, ensuring brand consistency. Create Content Guidelines: Develop and maintain in-app content strategies and content guidelines for cross-functional use. Test and Iterate: Continuously test and refine content and designs based on user feedback and data insights. Lead Projects: Oversee various product design initiatives, ensuring successful execution through collaboration with product management, design, operations, research, marketing, and engineering teams. Foster Collaboration: Drive cross-team strategic initiatives, fostering innovation and enhancing user engagement. Bring Empathy and Compassion: Demonstrate high emotional intelligence and strategic thinking in your writing. Ensure the Tinder voice remains clear, concise, and functional, while also being deeply empathetic to those navigating the ever-changing dating landscape.
You'll need:Proven Experience: 7+ years crafting compelling experiences and content in digital product companies, agencies, or tech startups, with a strong portfolio in UX writing and digital storytelling. Global Audience Focus: Expertise in designing content for diverse, global audiences, adapting messaging to cultural nuances. Mobile Product Expertise: Experience in writing for user-facing mobile apps, engaging users through concise and impactful messaging. Strategic Content Creation: Skill in strategically planning content roadmaps and developing test plans to optimize content strategies using data-driven insights. Collaboration and Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with key design and collaboration tools (especially Figma), experience or interest in building products and creating content with AI/LLMs, and effective teamwork in multidisciplinary environments. Leadership and Advocacy: Strong presentation skills, capable of articulating copy decisions and advocating for content choices that enhance product value and user engagement.
