About the Opportunity:
Do you love kidlit? Are you highly organized and self-directed? Can you see yourself playing a part in the creation of dynamic Jewish middle grade books? PJ Library is searching for a Content Associate, PJ Our Way to support its PJ Our Way book selection team. This is a full-time position with growth potential, based in Agawam, MA, reporting to the PJ Our Way Book Selection Manager.
PJ Library, a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, sends free Jewish storybooks and activities to kids around the world. Since its start in 2005, PJ Library has grown to become the largest worldwide engagement program for Jewish children and families, with over 650,000 books reaching homes in more than 40 countries every month. New generations are growing up with a collection of books rooted in Jewish traditions, culture, and values, and the stories help families add Jewish connections during reading time. PJ Our Way is the next chapter of PJ Library for kids ages 9-12. The program helps tweens embark upon their personal Jewish journeys by enabling them to choose their own books, tailor their experience based on their own interests and reading levels, participate in kid-driven initiatives, and engage with Jewish subjects and values.

Responsibilities:
The Content Associate will:
Support the PJ Our Way Book Selection Committee (BSC)
Contribute to book-related updates for the PJ Our Way websites
Manage book decision process
Manage and lead Design Team and Advisory Committee
Maintain content databases and internal libraries
Take part in Content Team's Salesforce tasks
Manage book-related tasks in Concur
Provide administrative support for the PJ Library Director of Books
Complete other administrative tasks and projects as requested

$45,000 - $50,000 depending on experience and paid at an hourly rate, qualified for over-time.

Responsibilities:
The Content Associate will:
Support the PJ Our Way Book Selection Committee (BSC)
- Organize and send agenda for committee meetings
- Schedule Zoom lines and send out meeting invitations
- Arrange for meeting necessities (IT, online documents, etc.)
- Take meeting minutes
- Keep detailed meeting notes for BSC Manager
- Update relevant documents, platforms, and databases
- Review external blogs, websites, catalogs, etc. for BSC consideration
- Order and ship book samples
- Send PJ Our Way book editions to authors and illustrators
- Manage submissions email account
Contribute to book-related updates for the PJ Our Way websites
- Assign, collect, and proofread monthly web content
- Create monthly blog posts and other content
- Provide web team with monthly content
- Moderate online comments and reviews
- Maintain quality control for PJ Our way website
Manage book decision process
- Manage communication with authors and publishers
- Coordinate rounds of reviews, liaise between publisher, author, and BSC
Manage and lead Design Team and Advisory Committee
- Process applications and select new teams
- Coordinate advisory committee and design team assignments and mail books to members
- Communicate with design team and advisory committee members
- Lead monthly design team meetings 6x/year
- Process design team & advisory committee submissions
Maintain content databases and internal libraries
Take part in Content Team's Salesforce tasks
- Contribute to regular CRM content data entry and clean-up
- Build and run reports
Manage book-related tasks in Concur
- Submit invoices for payment
- Reconcile credit card statements for BSC Manager
Provide administrative support for the PJ Library Director of Books
Complete other administrative tasks and projects as requested
Requirements
- Interest in Jewish children's literature, especially middle grade books
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, particularly in relation to the written word
- High level of organization for the management of team agendas, calendars, mailings, etc.
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Submittable, and Adobe a plus
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple ongoing projects
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of time working on a computer
- May need to lift up to 10 pounds at times (books, files, laptop)
Compensation:
$45,000 - $50,000 depending on experience and paid at an hourly rate, qualified for over-time.
