WYFF 4, the NBC affiliate in Greenville, SC, is now hiring a Traffic/Breaking News Anchor. We need a good storyteller who has excellent on-air presence and engagement skills. We want someone who can captivate our viewers on social media and a journalist who will grow this position.

Local News Traffic Anchor Reporter
WYFF 4, the NBC affiliate in Greenville, SC, is now hiring a Traffic/Breaking News Anchor. We need a good storyteller who has excellent on-air presence and engagement skills. We want someone who can captivate our viewers on social media and a journalist who will grow this position.
Responsibilities
- Prepare morning report with dynamic graphics
- News gather for traffic reports
- Provide concise live traffic reports for morning show and, as needed, evening shows
- Research and report up-to-the-minute traffic conditions
- Communicate important traffic information to the show producers and show anchors promptly
- Make sure that corresponding graphics, video and live shots are used accurately
- Communicate morning traffic information to viewers through digital platforms including our station website, mobile app, and social media pages
- Produce transportation related stories and present traffic information i the field
- Produce and Anchor breaking news updates through the morning newscast, at the direction of news management
Requirements
- Professional or college experience as a journalist and storyteller in a commercial television station
- Experience using traffic systems preferred
- Suited to ad-lib in breaking news situations
- Clear speech, basic knowledge of how to use a computer and basic knowledge of social media
- Familiar with street and highway names and directions; quick to learn
- Must be creative and work well with others
- Related military experience will be considered
