Job Summary/Description:

If you are looking for a position that combines traditional news anchoring and reporting with modern technologies to deliver news on multiple platforms, then this job is for you. We are looking for a dynamic, creative news professional who excels with high expectations, passion, and dedication. Must be able to cover breaking news without a teleprompter, conduct live interviews on issues of local interest, and represent the news station in a positive manner by being involved in the local community. This is a great opportunity for a journalist looking for an entry-level anchoring position, who has a strong work ethic, excellent time-management skills, and the desire to work with an award-winning news team.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Anchoring a newscast which also requires assisting with producing, checking scripts, and contributing content.
- Reporting breaking news events happening live locally and/or nationally and scheduling/conducting live interviews.
- Ability to produce, present, and technically direct unique content every day that will broadcast on multiple platforms.
- Ability to turn content generated on OTT platforms into stories that can be used on air, web, and social media.
- Must be able to multi-task and juggle technical skills while reporting and anchoring live.
- Works on special projects, including investigative reporting and long-form features.
- Assists with other newsroom duties as directed by management.
- Able to work a flexible schedule and hours that could change depending on the needs of the news team.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- A BA/BS degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field is required for this position.
- Prior professional experience working in news media is preferred.
- Strong professional social media skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational/scheduling skills.
- Solid technical and computer skills, with the ability to shoot, edit, write, and technically direct content independently.
- A valid driver's license and good driving record.
