We are currently recruiting for a Mac Production Artist to join our team! The Production Artist will perform the activities of the Prepress department to ensure that all work is performed according to schedule and within quality standards. This is not a Graphic Design position.
**Hours are Monday-Friday,
7:00am - 3:30pm, overtime as needed**
Responsibilities:
Other critical functions include planning, preflight, archiving, color correction, digital proofing, plate making, and all other functions performed in the prepress department. There will be special emphasis placed on production control, production reporting, material flow, and otherwise optimizing the overall efficiency and profitability of the department. They will be responsible for producing digital artwork on the electronic prepress system to meet customer specifications for final plate output.
- Establishes consistent standards for the proofing and plating process
- Works with other departments to resolve image-related problems in new and existing work.
- Advises customer service when work is required to prepare customer files for printing
- Provides a time estimate for the required work
- Follows schedule maintained by PrePress Manager.
- Works proficiently in the required software programs including, but not limited to: Illustrator, Photoshop.Esko Software a plus.
- Performs other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- Three to five years of experience in prepress, preflighting and preparing art files for flexographic presses.
- Some experience with digital preparing for print also desirable.
- Setting up variable data and some design experience a plus.
- Excellent knowledge of grammar, spelling and composition with strong communication skills
- Knowledge of offset, flexographic and letterpress processes preferred
