Technical Artist II
Job Purpose
The Technical Artist II is responsible for providing both artistic and technical support in the creation of games that are played and enjoyed by casino patrons.
Position Responsibilities
•Work with the artists and developers to determine the best technical approach to creating and delivering assets for each project.
•Enhance and optimize assets as needed to best suit development needs.
•Create and maintain XML files that control the presentation of certain assets.
•Create and maintain appropriate files structures for all media associated with each game.
•Archive assets upon completion of development.
Specific Accountabilities
•Create game title identifiers and generate a complete development folder structure for each new project.
•Work closely with the studio team to identify all the required visual and audio game assets.
•Create and maintain graphical templates for the overall GUI and various assets.
•Create game assets as needed.
•Work closely with artists and developers to provide technical guidance to ensure content accuracy.
•Create and edit xml files for art-related data and animation scripts.
•Work closely with artists and developers to integrate assets into the project.
•Maintain the asset repository and various other version control repositories (archiving files, creating new folder structures for concept development, etc.).
•Analyze and report memory/performance concerns throughout a project's development.
•Work with development team to enhance functionality and usability of internally developed game tools.
•Provide appropriate captures and documentation for project archival and IP requirements.
•Create and maintain a detailed record of game assets and ensure the information is communicated to all appropriate parties.
•Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation and operational procedures pertaining to asset creation.
Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Experience in creating and editing XML.
•Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop and After Effects.
•Experience with Spine.
•Understanding of the Studio game development process and the individual roles of all the contributors.
•Excellent organization skills and the ability to achieve results within tight deadlines.
•Experience with SVN or similar source control systems.
•Experience with Atlassian tools is a plus.
Education and Experience
•Completed an Art & Design Program from accredited post-secondary institution, or equivalent industry experience.
•At least 3 years of experience as a Technical Artist.
•At least 2 years of experience with Adobe Creative tools in a team setting.
