Teaching Artist: Technical Theater Residency
The Technical Theater Residency invites a Teaching Artist skilled in the area of production design to support the scenic design for the Woodbury Jr./Sr. High School (7th-12th graders) Fall production of CLUE. The Teaching Artist will explain terminology and demonstrate key elements of design, and lead students in the creation of the set. The execution of design will incorporate artistic elements like painting and dressing, making creative use of existing foam core pieces and flats. Any construction elements will be basic and require knowledge and experience with a drill. The teaching artist will be a welcome collaborator to ideas around lighting design.
Qualifications
Teaching Artists must have demonstrated previous teaching experience teaching their area of the arts, ideally in a school setting.
We seek artists who share in our mission that creativity and artistic talents are innate and waiting to be developed in every person. Ideal candidates are progressive and offer engaging classroom strategies, with a classroom management approach focused on meeting people where they are at, collaborative problem solving, and restorative practices. Experience with early childhood education, differentiated instruction, and multilingual, especially Spanish-speaking, a plus.
This is a great opportunity to build your teaching resume, learning and implementing Arts Integration skills.
This position is paid hourly at $75/hour.

FALL SHOW
Rehearsal dates: Starting September 23rd on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 3:30-5:30pm
Show dates: November 21-23rd @ 7:00pm
This is a year-long residency that includes a fall and a spring show. The spring show is Into the Woods with show dates March 27th-29th @ 7:00pm.

Once approved to be a part of our roster, your biography will be used on our website and given to schools or organizations interested in your work.
- Three professional references that include two references which focus on your skills and experiences as a teaching artist and one reference that speaks to your skills and talents as a professional artist.
