JOB SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of responsible, professional and technical work related to the design, development, implementation, documentation and enhancement of the Countys Audio Visual systems in county courtrooms, huddle rooms and digital signage. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for own work group and department.

Responsibilities:
  • Be the Subject Matter Expert on AV hardware and software that integrates with our digital signage solutions.
  • Designs and integrates new video and audio equipment as a value add to our digital signage solution offering. Ensures custom AV hardware and software is qualified and set-up/integrated to meet the needs of the customer. Responsible for cabling and wiring to implement technologies into AV setups.
  • Documents all facets of system integration including comprehensive drawing sets, parts lists, cable schedules, and system configuration details.
  • Partners with relevant 3rd party vendors to maintain, troubleshoot and participate in problem-solving AV hardware and software issues. Uses technical skills to ensure system diagnostics, troubleshoot, and configure and route IP-based ethernet and fiber optic networks for digital signal distribution.
  • Sets up and operates video cameras, audio equipment, equipment layouts and wiring schematics, and manage troubleshooting of AV and networking equipment.
  • Provides guidance on storing, transporting, assembling, and disassembling AV equipment, as needed.
  • Ensures the production and updating of AV documentation such as user guides, install guides and troubleshooting guides.
  • Recommends and implements upgrades and patches.
  • Maintains a library of control designs and programming.
  • Creates and maintains standard system designs for county AV systems.
  • Develops standards and processes for the selection, implementation, utilization and maintenance of AV installations across all County Departments/Offices.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.. May be required to work non-scheduled hours and/or weekends as a designated essential employee.
Qualifications:
  • Expertise in AV protocols (like HDMI, DVI, SDI, AVOIP etc.) and industry standards (like HDR, HDCP etc.), would be key.
  • Physical Requirements: Capability to lift and carry heavy audio equipment.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, used on event schedules.
  • Bachelors degree or High School / GED with 4+ years of experience in Workplace audiovisual systems, installation, configuration, and design to include DSP layout, and audio design.
  • Four years job related experience.
  • Knowledge of Crestron, Extron, QSC, and other related technologies.
  • Requires familiarity, coursework or work experience with communications hardware and software.
  • Competence with AV equipment Theory of Operations and set-up.
  • Expertise in processing control, routing, and audio video signal flow with software.
  • Understanding AV technologies and IT systems on a technical level.
  • Awareness of the latest trends, hardware, and features in AV equipment.
  • Familiarity with graphics, encoding and video editing software.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, collaboration and working across teams.
  • 1+ years of AV design, integration, or project management experience, would be a plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Capability to lift and carry heavy audio equipment.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, used on event schedules. May be required to work non-scheduled hours and/or weekends as a designated essential employee.
  • Requires successful CJIS background check prior to hire date.

SALARY RANGE: $31.01 - $38.81 hourly based on qualifications

CLOSING DATE: Upon filling position
