As we expand our offerings, we’re looking for a dedicated Director of Content with a strong background in paid ads and digital marketing. You’ll be joining a team that thrives on creativity and collaboration, working together to make a real impact on women’s lives.
About the Role:
We’re seeking a results-driven Director of Content to develop, implement, and optimize content strategies with a heavy emphasis on paid advertising.
This is a hybrid, independent contractor (1099) role and candidates must be local to the Los Angeles area as you will be responsible for conducting monthly photo shoots with the founder. As the Director of Content, you’ll work closely with the founder to create compelling campaigns that drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention for our programs and apps.
You will oversee content creation pipelines, including managing editors to produce high-quality content for weekly ad sprints. As our team grows, you’ll also manage a social media manager, ensuring a cohesive strategy across all digital platforms.

Responsibilities:
Content Strategy & Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and supports user acquisition and retention.
- Collaborate with the founder to define content priorities for paid ad campaigns across various platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Google Ads, and others.
- Create engaging ad copy, video scripts, and visual content that speaks directly to the needs and interests of our target audience.
- Maintain a weekly content calendar to ensure consistent and timely execution of paid ad campaigns.
Content Pipeline Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end content creation pipeline, managing editors and ensuring content is produced and optimized for weekly ad sprints.
- Coordinate with editors to maintain high-quality standards, timely delivery, and alignment with ad campaign objectives.
- Establish and refine processes to streamline content production for paid ads, ensuring that assets move seamlessly from concept to publication.
Photo Shoot Coordination:
- Organize and manage monthly photo shoots with the founder, including scheduling, location scouting, and shot planning.
- Collaborate with photographers and other production staff to ensure content quality aligns with brand standards.
- Select and edit photos for use in paid ads and other digital content.
Cross -Functional Collaboration & Team Leadership:
- Partner with product, coaching, and marketing teams to ensure content consistency across all user touchpoints.
- Mentor and guide editors, content creators, and potentially a social media manager to ensure cohesive messaging across all content.
- As the team grows, manage and direct the social media manager, integrating social content with paid ad strategies for a unified brand presence.
- Lead brainstorming sessions to generate new content ideas and innovative ways to engage users through paid ads.
- Maintain strong relationships with external vendors and platforms to stay updated on the latest advertising features and trends.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing and digital advertising, with a strong focus on paid ads for a motherhood brand.
- Proven track record of creating and optimizing successful paid ad campaigns across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Google Ads.
- Excellent copywriting and storytelling skills, with the ability to create compelling ad content that resonates with target audiences.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with advertising analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Ads Manager, etc.).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities and deadlines.
Bonus Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience in the health and wellness or fitness industry.
- Knowledge of video production and editing for paid social ads.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and email marketing platforms to support content distribution and retargeting strategies.
- Previous experience working closely with a founder or C-level executive in a startup environment.
Compensation:
- $60-$65 per hour based on experience, with opportunities for growth and advancement. Independent contractor (1099) role, NOT W2.
