About the Job:

The Foreman oversees all aspects of installation at Summit Integrated project sites following industry standards and project plans, and ensures successful, efficient, on-time, and on-budget completion of a wide range of AVL system installation projects. They oversee and give final sign-off on the Quality of Work their crews attain, which must meet or exceed The Summit Standards. This position effectively leads a team of technicians on-site, while communicating technical information with clients, Summit Staff, and AVL Technicians to drive toward successful outcomes and customer satisfaction. The Foreman consults with Installation leadership on the performance of technicians and highlights skill gaps or areas for improvement.

Our AV Installation Team is based in Colorado and travels up to 32 weeks a year on projects, typically lasting two weeks at a time. Our office is located in the metro Boulder area. When working locally, you may be commuting to job-sites within 35 miles of Summit HQ.

Responsibilities:
  • Builds comprehensive installation plans and specifies a detailed scope of work to ensure project readiness, peak operational efficiency, and smooth execution.
  • Works with the Director of Installation and Project Managers to ensure the appropriate required crew is scheduled for the entirety of a job to hit deadlines.
  • Leads the execution of installation plans within hours and budget estimates, while still meeting project deliverable targets and Summit Standards.
  • Coordination with other trades on site, Verifies accuracy and precision of specified construction items as outlined in SIS CD drawings
  • Brings Clarity & accountability to Project DOW onsite
  • Coordinate logistical details and specify equipment rental needs with the Project Manager.
  • Works with the Assembly & Warehouse team to ensure all products are accounted for, packed, and ready for installation trips
  • Identifies and orders specialized materials per project. COGS MISC Items
  • Communicates from the field with Engineering, Design, and PM to update on project status, ask for input, request corrections or redesign, etc.
  • Utilizes and updates all required spreadsheets, drawings, to-dos, and internal communication avenues. "Redlines" changes for as-built drawings provided to client.
  • Partners with church production teams onsite to understand and meet their needs. Communicates effectively to the PM when client needs may have changed from the original project plan, or if project timelines/deliverables need to be adjusted.
  • Signs-off on project completion checklists and takes responsibility for fully testing, verifying & inspecting the Installation crew's workmanship.
  • Ensures QC processes are followed. Owns the finished Quality of Work on Projects they manage
  • Utilizing intermediate to expert knowledge of advanced installation skills, leads and executes the installation of audio, visual, and lighting equipment to include:
    • Preparing equipment: Inventorying, testing, labeling, addressing, programming, rack building and soldiering
    • Audio Installation Work: building of racks and wire termination; Hanging/rigging flown speakers; mounting ceiling speakers; setting up and programming consoles; floor pockets; programming and deploying DSP programs; setting up and wiring stage; wireless frequency management; system tuning.
    • Video Installation Work: mounted or flown LED walls; high profile projectors and screens; routers and switchers; distribution equipment; floor pockets; camera systems: video engineering equipment; production communication equipment; building of racks and wire termination; deployment of flat-screen displays and their mounts; extensive digital signage systems; build-out of control rooms and their furniture; conference room technology systems.
    • Lighting Installation Work: Hanging, cabling and addressing lighting fixtures; patching, setting up and programming consoles; building of racks and wire termination; installing and programming architectural control stations; hanging and mounting distribution equipment; floor pockets.
    • Rigging Work: Using gripples and attaching safety cables, aircraft cable fabrication, securing clamps, bolt and thread assembly, and basic unistrut methods. Timber, Concrete, Drywall and Masonry rigging methods; Unistrut load and weight calculations; wall mounted/flown speakers and projections screens; Curtains, both track and dead hung; rigging and operating chain motor/manual hoists; Hanging/Wrapping Lighting and/or LED Truss; Building Arrays, both Installed and/or Touring.

  • Ability to test & troubleshoot AVL Systems at an Advanced Level (Diagnostics & Solutions)
  • Ability to Setup, Program, Configure & Pre-Commission various AVL and Network Equipment
  • Operates Aerial scissor & Boom lifts, Forklifts; Setup & Teardown Scaffolding & Ladders

Required Certification/Licensure:
  • Maintains up to date OSHA 30 Certification - Summit Provided
  • Aerial Scissors, Boom & Forklift Certified - Summit Provided
  • Up to date DOT physical & Safety Certifications - Summit Provided
  • Maintains valid Drivers License, clean driving record, and the ability to be insured under the company plan.

Work Location: In person & travel to project sites
This is not a remote position.

Job Type: Full-time, Hourly

Pay: Salary - Starting between $58,000 - $72,000 + Bonuses based on performance

Schedule: Project Based / Variable, will frequently be asked to work overtime while on-site, followed by periods of unpaid time off. Hours generally average annually to 1.0 FTE.

Travel requirement:
