JOB PURPOSE:
Directs gathering and production of news and features for broadcast and digital platforms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directs gathering and production of news and features content for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Supervises personnel to include allocating work and solving problems.
- Responsible for evaluating performance and managing staff members.
- Generates assignments and evaluates news leads and news tips to develop stories.
- Ensures the accuracy of the broadcast programs by gathering and verifying information regarding stories.
- Edits material and reporter submissions.
- Prepares and writes stories according to standard editorial style and format; serves as fill-in anchor or host.
- Monitors equipment usage and ensures the maintenance of equipment inventories.
- Attends the monthly Student Media Board meetings.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Full-time student for the entire academic year
- Minimum 2.5 GPA
- Ability to develop broadcast programs on-air and online.
- Knowledge of broadcast journalism principles and techniques.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Some supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of on-air and online techniques, protocols and standards.
- Knowledge of broadcast production techniques.
- Knowledge of industry-related software.
