How you'll make an impact:
  • Actively look for, prospect and convert new business opportunities at all times
  • Contribute to the development of the Communications business in scale, revenue and profitability in order to achieve and exceed agreed sales targets
  • Work closely with all internal GBS teams, including Reward & Benefits Consulting, , Organisational Wellbeing and Culture Change practices and develop additional income opportunities from existing clients
  • Work closely with other internal Gallagher introducers including GGB and GB as well as external personal and professional introducers to develop new and existing relationships for corporate new business introductions
  • Provide a professional high-quality service to all clients, colleagues and other third parties
  • Responsible for new business development actively look for, prospect and convert new business opportunities at all times in order to meet and exceed financial targets. Anticipates and responds to the on-going and future needs and objectives of clients, with a prompt and flexible approach to meet and exceed their expectations and ensure consistent delivery of outstanding servic
  • Manage the lead pipeline, activity and diary pro-actively and efficiently to maximise opportunitie
  • Achieve and exceed new business revenue targets, through new business generation
  • Support the GBS Consulting Teams and management on more complex cases
  • Actively contribute towards the development and management of the GBS objective
  • Demonstrates extensive and up to date GBS proposition knowledge at all times.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients/prospects and GBS producers, and is relied upon as their trusted adviser
  • Develop effective internal and external relationships to assist in providing an efficient professional service to clients and manage their expectations on work being undertaken
  • Ensure the profitable growth of the business by identifying and proactively developing and securing additional revenue from new client relationships through cross selling initiatives, referrals, professional connections and leveraging Gallaghers internal network
  • Ensure a smooth efficient handover of new clients to GBS colleagues who will service the client
  • When necessary, working with Consultants to maintain and increase the annual value and profitability of existing clients, and ensure fee invoicing process is undertaken in a timely manner
  • Ability to draw up and negotiate on services / fee proposals with new clients subject to the standard fee pricing structure and approval protocols in force
  • Ensure any additional services offered to clients are agreed on the standard fee pricing basis through sign off by management
  • Monitor income to ensure budget achieved and financial control over Consultant portfolio and client budgets
  • Ensure adherence to the firms engagement and re-engagement procedures, with suitable protections in place
  • Preparation and delivery of client tenders, power point presentations etc.
  • Undertake all projects in a professional, timely and compliant manner in liaison with other teams as requiredFeed market intelligence and best practise into business attending team/Consultant meetings to share and exchange views and drive forward best practice and innovation within our services portfolio

About you:

Required: Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience required OR High School Diploma/GED and 8 years experience.

Preferred:

  • Extensive and up to date proposition knowledge of all component areas of Gallagher and GBS.
  • In particular extensive knowledge of Communication Practice
  • Extensive and up to date knowledge of communications consultancy through CPD
  • Anticipates the impact of key developments within the marketplace to manage overall commercial risk, identify selling opportunities and create value added strategies for the business
  • Literate Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and relevant internal systems/databases
  • Ensures that individually and as a firm we treat our clients in the right way
  • Awareness of the regulatory requirements in respect of advised and non-advised sales, and in particular evidencing the standards and knowledge required in respect of giving advice and making recommendations to customers
  • Demonstrable experience within similar role in Communication
  • Demonstrable record of high sales success, with ability to manage and develop compliant business from new and existing clients in the corporate client arena
  • Sales orientated: outstanding customer service, translates client needs into engagements, demonstrates commerciality in their actions, established network of clients internally and externally, developing and maintaining strong relationships
  • Strong verbal and written communication/presentation skills at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Confident presentation skills, both internally and externally
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with Corporate clients at Board level (MD/FDs) and senior people in external organisations
  • Excellent organisation skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks
