This role plays a key part in shaping our brand voice and storytelling, helping to drive engagement, donations, and brand awareness. The ideal candidate will have strong copywriting skills and the ability to produce content for various marketing functions, including the website, blog, emails, social media, and other digital platforms. This person will ensure all content aligns with our mission and resonates with our target audience.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Content Creation & Copywriting: Write compelling and persuasive copy for a variety of marketing channels, including website pages, blog articles, email campaigns, social media posts, and other digital content.Develop content that effectively communicates Human Appeal's mission, values, and key messages, ensuring consistency in tone and style.Create SEO-optimized content that drives organic traffic and enhances our online presence.Collaborate with the marketing team to develop content calendars and ensure timely delivery of all content projects.Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to brand guidelines.Content Strategy & Planning: Assist in the development and execution of content marketing strategies that support overall marketing goals and drive audience engagement.Conduct research to identify content gaps and opportunities, ensuring that content is relevant, timely, and aligned with audience needs.Work with the digital marketing team to plan and execute content-driven campaigns, including lead generation and donor engagement initiatives.Develop content briefs and outlines that guide the creation of targeted and impactful content.Track content performance metrics and use data to refine content strategies and improve results.Content Management & Distribution: Manage content across various digital platforms, including the website, blog, and social media channels, ensuring content is regularly updated and relevant.Coordinate with the web development team to implement content changes and updates on the website.Optimize content distribution through email marketing, social media, and other digital channels to maximize reach and engagement.Ensure all content complies with SEO best practices, including keyword integration and on-page optimization.Maintain an organized content library, ensuring easy access to all marketing materials for team members.Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the communications, and digital marketing teams to align content efforts with broader organizational goals.Collaborate with graphic designers, videographers, and other creative professionals to produce multimedia content that enhances storytelling.Support other departments by providing content writing and editing assistance for various projects, including reports, proposals, and presentations.Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for new content and campaigns.Act as a brand ambassador, ensuring that all content reflects Human Appeal's mission, values, and visual identity.Content Performance & Optimization: Monitor and analyze content performance using analytics tools, providing regular reports on key metrics such as engagement, traffic, and conversion rates.Use insights from data to refine content strategies, improve engagement, and achieve marketing objectives.Conduct A/B testing on content to determine the most effective messaging and formats.Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in content marketing, applying new techniques to enhance content effectiveness.Provide recommendations for improving content workflows, processes, and overall content strategy.WHAT YOU WILL NEEDEDUCATION/EXPERTISE: Bachelor's degree required in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, or a related field, preferably within a non-profit or mission-driven organization.Proficiency in content management systems, SEO tools, email marketing platforms, and basic design software.JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/ETC: Technical Skills: Proficient in content management systems (e.g., Umbraco) and familiar with SEO best practices.Strong copywriting and editing skills, with the ability to write clear, engaging, and persuasive content.Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., ActiveCampaign, Salesforce) and familiarity with basic HTML and CSS for content formatting.Ability to use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to measure content performance and derive actionable insights.Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer) and basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite). Personal Skills: Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality content that reflects Human Appeal's brand and mission.Creative thinker with the ability to generate fresh ideas for content and campaigns.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Visual acuity to use a keyboard and view a computer terminal.
