Summary

The Marketing & Business Development Content Manager contributes to business development by developing written content used to promote the firm and its practices and sectors and support the client growth and acquisition process including pitch and proposal copy, capabilities overviews, slip sheets, and brochures. This role will be instrumental in helping the firm authentically articulate its capabilities and differentiators in a way that smartly reflects the firm's market position through client-centric content. The position requires strong writing skills combined with a thorough understanding of the role value propositions play in a sophisticated global law firm.

Responsibilities

* Develops content that elevates our brand describing various firm, practice and sector capabilities and including pitch and proposal copy, introductory material overviews (in Word and PPT), slip-sheets, brochures, and other client-facing presentations.

* Drafts, edits, and reviews various marketing and business development collateral.

* Uses stakeholder and subject matter expert input to create impactful content that tells a compelling story about the firm's capabilities, strengths, and propositions.

* Leverage copy and input from practice and sector marketing teams and evolve content to consistently and strongly reflect the firm's brand.

* Collaborate with the Pitch & Proposal team to be sure content development is high impact, leveraging a strong understanding of how content facilitates business development and translates into proposal and pitch material that best positions the firm to win work.

* Support management of content systems (SharePoint) to maintain content and ensure it is kept up to date and is consistent.

* Effectively project manage content development process from conception to production.

* Use graphic elements and formatting to visually enhance overall appearance of collateral and effectively convey key messages.

* Collaborate with graphic design team for production of final deliverables as needed.

* Continually apply creativity to writing client-centric copy.

* Comfortably apply the firm's brand playbook, style, and voice guidelines when writing content.

* Provides support for additional Marketing related projects, as needed.

* Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education

* 4 Year / bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field

Preferred Education

* MBA and/or JD

Minimum Requirements

* 5 years of marketing/business development experience in a professional services environment, preferably within a large, global law firm

* Proficiency in MS Office Suite

* Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

* Good understanding of brand strategy and how they apply to master messaging frameworks and translate to content

* Strong writing and storytelling skills and attention to detail

* Strong written and verbal communication skills and editing, and proofreading capabilities

* Good PowerPoint design skills and design aesthetic

* Ability to combine copy writing with design to best convey a message

* Good communication and customer service skills required to interact with the firm's lawyers, Marketing & Business Development teams and other staff on a regular basis

* Strong organizational skills necessary to coordinate various operational tasks

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, as well, must possess strong problem-solving capabilities

* High energy, reacts with appropriate sense of urgency, focuses on high quality product production and service delivery

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

The firm's expected hiring range for this position is $128,000 - $202,000 per year depending on the candidate's geographic market location. The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate's experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
