Black Opal LLC is a cosmetics company that has two ethnic makeup brands.

JOB SUMMARY: Black Opal LLC is looking for a Creative Director to join our BLK/OPL and Fashion Fair Team. This role will be responsible for the execution of the Black Opal LLC brand creative, visual identity, and tone of voice across its own and operated channels and in partnership with its retailers.

This role will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, brand partners, and retailers to provide captivating assets to support 360-degree marketing plans that inspire, connect, and educate our beauty community.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Visual Identity
  2. Develop visual identity that is modern, crisp, and unique to each beauty brand.
  3. Develop style guide with visual identity, look, and brand guidelines for each beauty brand.
  4. Lead photoshoots for all new products, models, social media, and corporate content.
  5. Develop all digital collateral for website, email, SMS, social, and more.
  6. Develop in-store merchandising and graphics.
  7. Project and team management of creatives.
  8. Provide guidance and leadership to a team of graphic designers.
  9. Give updates on the progress of each project and stage of their development and creation phase to leadership.
  10. Product Development
  11. Manage all product packaging and component artwork development.
  12. Paid Marketing Assets
  13. Lead development of paid media ads (banners, etc.) and paid social media ads (videos and stills).
  14. Manage all one-off creative requests, i.e., booth setup, flyers, banners, etc.
  15. Develop best practices for all content created by influencers and brand partners.
  16. Lead brainstorming and ideation for all new creative projects.
  17. Other projects as desired.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  1. 5-7 years of experience in creative design experience, preferably in the beauty or consumer packaged goods industry.
  2. Experience working on a direct-to-consumer brand.
  3. Experience with creating paid media and digital advertising assets.
  4. Demonstrated understanding of brand marketing fundamentals.
  5. A passion and knowledge of the social landscape and beauty industry.
  6. Think on the fly and balance talent personality with Black Opal business objectives and priorities.
  7. Impeccable attention to detail and creative eye.
  8. Experience working with retailers.
  9. Self-motivated demonstrating a high level of initiative and proven ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing appropriately.
  10. Mastery of Microsoft Office and Graphic Design.
  11. Curiosity and desire to learn about the ever-changing world of digital marketing and social media.
