We are looking for a highly skilled Infrastructure Design Manager with a mechanical focus, who is passionate about our mission to join our energy infrastructure engineering team with focus on cell manufacturing and R&D improvements. In this role, you will be asked to own and drive the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to build. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, construction and project management. The role requires a highly organized mindset, a passion for driving multi-disciplinary projects, and an unparalleled ability to pull people together to make things happen. This role requires you to be extremely detail oriented, identify real hard barriers and drive the cross-functional teams to execute quickly at high quality. You will drive collaboration between Engineering disciplines, Construction, R&D, operations to ensure our team's goals are aligned with company priorities. We are a demanding and fast-paced environment, so being self-motivated and disciplined is critical.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage design reviews, construction design packages and deliverables to support all aspects of construction: including scope of work, kick-off, MDR, 30%, 60%, 90%, IFP, IFC
  • Define strategies for design and engineering deliverables including construction and permit packages
  • Own the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to delivery to meet our aggressive goals
  • Manage permitting and construction documents including transmittals and RFI's
  • Coordinate project schedule with construction team based on Procurement and Construction requirements for the overall schedule success of the project
  • Fundamentally understand stakeholder's requirements and translate them into project deliverables.
  • Manage all aspects of technical planning, scope development, change management, programming, design, and engineering services during construction
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the various cross-functional teams to ensure overall program alignment
  • Understand different project delivery methods including design bid build, integrated project development, and fast track projects
  • Implement innovative engineering and design methodologies to support very aggressive program and construction schedules
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5 - 10 years of professional experience required
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary within A/E firms
  • Experience with managing complex MEP projects
  • Fully understanding all engineering disciplines and be able to demonstrate skills to manage engineering resource
  • Proven record in delivery of IFB, IFP and IFC packages
  • Experience designing manufacturing, industrial, R&D facilities, workplace and site infrastructure development
  • Project management skills, demonstrated application of project and program management fundamentals to complex engineering problems.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills with ability to understand complex problems and distill the message into a clear plan
  • Positive, enthusiastic, fast learner, can-do mindset and passionate about building complex infrastructure

      $100,000 - $216,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
