Whatnot has been one of the fastest growing marketplaces and we’re hiring forward-thinking problem solvers across all functional areas.RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled staff level product designer with a specialized focus on Growth to join our Product Design team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your deep understanding of design principles, user psychology, and growth strategies to drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the user experience, optimizing product design for growth, and ultimately contributing to our company's success.Design and implement innovative solutions with a focus on growth initiatives, including user acquisition, conversion rate optimization, and retention.Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing, to identify growth opportunities and integrate growth-focused design strategies into our products.Conduct extensive research and data analysis to understand user behaviors, needs, and barriers to growth.Develop and iterate on designs and prototypes that effectively communicate design ideas.Utilize A/B testing and other quantitative and qualitative methods to validate designs and hypotheses, making data-driven decisions to improve product performance.Advocate for best practices in design, usability, and accessibility, ensuring a consistent and user-centric approach across all product touchpoints.Mentor junior designers and contribute to the development of our design culture and processes.Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our New York, NY, San Francisco, CA, or Los Angeles, CA hubs.YouCurious about who thrives at Whatnot? We’ve found that low ego, a growth mindset, and leaning into action and high impact goes a long way here.As our next Product Designer you should have 7+ years of experience in product design, plus:A proven track record of driving growth through design initiatives.Strong portfolio showcasing your design skills, thought process, and product impact.Expertise in design and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).Deep understanding of user experience design principles and methodologies, including user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing.Experience with A/B testing, analytics, and other methods for measuring the impact of design decisions.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.A growth mindset, with a relentless focus on user needs and a commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
