Role OverviewWe are looking for a Senior Medical Writer (specializing in Training) to join the Springer Healthcare Training and MedEd team. In this role you will assist in the preparation and delivery of accurate and engaging scientific copy written to an appropriate reading and literacy level for a variety of audiences, including pharmaceutical representatives, medical affairs, and HCPs. The Senior Medical Writer will work closely with other Scientific Services and Editorial team members (e.g., designers) to meet client needs in terms of quality, commercial focus, and clinical relevance. Types of training/educational deliverables are diverse and span the product life cycle, including but not limited to foundational disease state and treatment landscapes, patient journeys, competitor landscapes, PI training, objection handing, targeted workshops, and staying abreast of the latest data presented at scientific congresses. This position can be located in our New York, NY; Jersey City, NJ; or Philadelphia, PA office in the US; or in our Chester, Manchester, or London office in the UK - hybrid working. Responsibilities: Write scientific content for internal/external pharmaceutical audiences including but not limited to eLearning content, video scripts, magazine articles, patient journeys, targeted workshops, and slide presentations across multiple therapeutic areas Research and construct content outlines and learning objectives based on high-level brief Conduct extensive literature reviews and develop content drafts with limited oversight; filing in contextual content and suggesting graphics, as appropriate for target audience Ensure developed content, including outlines and full drafts, are of the highest editorial quality, and in alignment with client expectations and medical/legal/regulatory requirements and processes Resolve content-related queries from the client Monitor own adherence to timelines and utilization rate Record and monitor actual time spent on each project and complete timely and accurate timesheets Attend account team meetings (status, copy review or medical/legal/regulatory review, job kickoffs) as well as editorial team and department meetings, as needed Mentor more junior members of the scientific services team (e.g., master internal style guide and share best practices/tips)Experience, skills, and qualifications:Essential: Graduate degree (MS or higher) in a scientific discipline Minimum of 4 years' medical/science writing and editorial experience within a scientific agency environment required (e.g., sales training, medical communications) Ability to travel up to 10% of time MS Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro Proven ability to research, learn, and distil complex scientific information/data and communicate it clearly to the target audience Ability to work independently as well as in a team environmentDesirable: Familiarity with platforms in our development pipeline, such as InDesign and eLearning platforms Proven creativity (e.g., journalism, writing for a lay audience, infographic development) Understanding of instructional design and adult learning principles Experience in oncology, haematology, biomarkers, endocrinology/diabetes, cardiology and immunology/infectious diseases #LI-HC1Springer Nature US provides a comprehensive and competitive benefits package which includes the benefit offerings listed below: •Medical, Dental and Vision •401(k) with company match and contribution•Hybrid office working policy, Summer Hours, and paid time off•Flexible Spending and Commuter programs•Multiple Life insurance options•Disability coverage•Tuition Assistance•Voluntary benefits: Identity Theft Protection, Pet Insurance, and Legal Assistance Insurance•Employee Assistance Program•Family friendly benefits and a variety of employee discounts•An array of Employee Social Networks US Annualized Base Salary Range: $105,000 - $122,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level and equity.
