Overview:
LMI is seeking a Communications Specialist who will provide operational communications support to a large Army Enterprise Resource Planning system that is modernizing and converging several current financial and logistics systems. This position will include supporting communications and outreach campaigns, authoring content, and development of communication strategies, products, and solutions. This position requires an active Secret clearance. Note: Work location is client site, Fort Belvoir, VA. Liberal telework or a remote location will be acceptable with occasional requirements to travel to client offices at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and other Army locations. Responsibilities: Create and execute effective communication strategies to support client mission and priorities. Support a full-range of communications including talking points, video scripts, memos, organization announcements, nominations, social media posts, media interviews and associated read-aheads for speaking engagements. Collaborate with stakeholders, technical subject matter experts, marketing, and design teams to plan and develop content, style, and layout. Provide communications services to convey, promote, and disseminate information to stakeholders related to ongoing and future initiatives under tight deadlines. Use communication strategies to drive adoption of new technology or programs. Provide solutions and manage branding and consistent design to improve user experience with communications. Convey, promote, and disseminate various materials related to the organization's priorities and initiatives. Liaise with organizations to strategically communicate. This includes working with Public Affairs Officials, legislative affairs, and other DoD components. Provide support for public affairs, industry relations, congressional affairs, event management, article creation, graphics, digital media management and protocol. Advise the program office leadership on communications to internal team members, higher headquarters, stakeholders, and the public. Plan and execute information and promotional campaigns. Disseminate information on projects and special programs. Provide design and graphical support to develop technical diagrams and related systems engineering graphics. Produce high-quality graphics that meet applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience. Ensure material conforms to customers standards for style, content, and format. Communicate ideas through clear, compelling infographics, interactive graphics, maps, data visualizations, and interactive media. Support the development of senior level presentations.
Qualifications: Required Bachelors degree with 2 or more years of related experience Expertise in communications principles, methods, practices, and techniques, including skill in presenting ideas in speech and in written form to inform and persuade audiences at all levels of the organization Working knowledge of remote/virtual meeting environments such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, and Elements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Strong organizational skills (e.g., time management, communication, setting goals, delegation, working under pressure, self-motivation, analytical thinking, and attention to detail). Strong writing and editing skills. An active U.S. government Secret security clearance is required Desired Knowledge of DoD/Army organizations, processes, and communications policies Experience developing and implementing strategic communications plans for DoD, Federal, or governmental organizations. Experience with Quark, Pagemaker, HTML, FrontPage, and DreamWeaver. Video creation/development experience. Marketing experience. Experience with systems engineering, technical programs, analysis, and familiarity with systems architectures. Certification in Human Centered Design (HCD) or other agile certifications.
