A Day in the LifeTeam is working hybrid and position will be onsite in Fridley, MN, 3 days/week.
Internal & External Communications
In partnership with the Global Inclusion, Diversity & Equity (GIDE) Communications Director, you will help create and execute strategic communications initiatives (including messaging on behalf of Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer - CIDO) that deliver on stated objectives (e.g., engaging meaningfully with employees already involved in Inclusion, Diversity & Equity work as well as broadening to appeal to those yet to become involved).
Ensure that all communications activities you are responsible for and created on behalf of Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer (e.g., social media plan, Network engagement, internal podcast, etc.) are anchored in a communications strategy you create (including objectives, tactics and audiences, and informed by data) and aligns to broader organizational strategies (Global Communications & Corporate Marketing, ID&E communications and GIDE).
Update ID&E organizational messaging and help cascade key concepts, and priorities throughout the organization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including other executive communications teams, to ensure alignment and consistency in ID&E messaging (e.g., recognition of heritage months, etc.).
Identify and develop communication enablement tools (e.g., key messaging, sample presentations, engagement forums, etc.) that empower key stakeholder groups across Medtronic to speak consistently about our ID&E efforts.
Update and maintain a “library” of core slides about ID&E.
Measure results of communications tactics to ensure that efforts are meeting stated fiscal year objectives.
Executive Communications
Craft clear, compelling and dynamic messages for the CIDO (with ability to flex between personal and professional tone) for a variety of audiences both internal and external.
Provide communication support for the CIDO, including presentation development (both content and basic design), preparation of talking points and gathering background information.
Support executive participation in events, conferences and media engagements.
Implement strategic approach to social media (internal and external) including drafting of posts, gathering insights from past performance and adapting strategy accordingly.
Execute internal social media campaigns to help engage employees in key ID&E activities.
Drive employee engagement visits end-to-end including project management, partner collaboration, executive prep, creative execution and all pre- and post- event messaging.
Produce internal podcast including identification of guests, simple editing of the podcast and promotion of episodes.
Must Have:
Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience in communications (or 8+ years with an advanced degree)
Nice to Have:
Experience in Corporate communications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as marketing, communications, public relations, policy, English, or journalism
Master’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or related field
Strong interpersonal and written communications skills
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across a variety of functions and with all levels of management and employees
Resourcefulness, flexibility, and ability to work in ambiguous situations
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver communications plans and tactics with measurable outcomes, using multiple channels, including digital/social media
Executive interaction:
Confidently engage with high-level executives, demonstrating professionalism and effective communication skills including ensuring all work presented to executives is polished, accurate, and meets the highest standards of quality.
Strategic leadership and execution:
Demonstrate comfort in both driving strategic communication initiatives and executing detailed plans, ensuring alignment throughout.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$136,800.00 - $205,200.00 This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
