This includes domestic and export programs, foodservice and brand marketing along with PR, nutrition education, tradeshows, website, consumer response, agency management, Sunkist store, crisis management, and the Market Access Program. This position requires a strong understanding of brand strategy, creative, media, community marketing, digital, and social marketing.
Key objectives of this position are to support the strategic overview of the marketing program directed by the Sr. Director Category Management & Marketing. This position involves cross-functional collaboration, support, and working closely with Category management, Retail Trade marketing, Sunkist sales, and Sunkist varietal desk.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Manages consumer marketing efforts, including nutrition education, social media, influencer marketing, out of home, digital advertising, and brand partnership.
Translates national brand strategies and marketing plans into actionable consumer go-to marketing. Ensures compliance with brand unification efforts and ROI generation.
Agency management of outside consumer agency including briefings, review/approvals, and evaluation.
Acts as traffic manager for all projects to ensure deliverables and deadlines are met.
Strategic planning for internal and external campaigns, media channel selection, and varietal priorities.
Supporting program analysis for marketing activities to determine ROI and better understand past performance and set future goals.
Monitoring of marketing spend throughout each season, assisting in the management of annual marketing budget and reporting duties, including maintaining accurate budget reports, forecasting, and expense targets.
Manage culinary partnerships, chef collaboration, and Foodservice-related campaigns.
Management of annual tradeshow programs, including booth creation, sponsorships, and attendance needs.
Maintains and supports Sunkist store and websites.
Manage marketing team members, including Export Marketing Manager, Brand Specialist, and Marketing Coordinator.
Supports Food Safety communications when required – consumer response, ERP (Emergency Response Program), recall plan, and crisis management.
Maintains strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Marketing, Sales, Varietal Management, and Finance.
External contact with creative agencies and vendors.
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work units.
Attends meetings as requested.
Hires and trains new staff in the department.
Oversees the daily activities and workflow of the department.
Provides constructive and timely performance feedback.
Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Minimum Educational and Experience Qualifications/Requirements:
8 – 10 years Marketing leadership, digital marketing, and brand management.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, business, communications, or a related field of study.
Experience and skilled at working and managing creative teams, both internal and external.
Strong leadership, management, and supervisory skills.
Ability to balance strategic-thinking with strong detail orientation in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Technical knowledge of communications, brand management, partnerships, social media, and influencer marketing.
In-depth knowledge of consumer behavior and digital marketing best practices.
Track record of achieving maximum impact with limited resources.
Strong organizational skills, budget management.
Food industry experience preferred but not required.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Must be willing and able to travel.
Willingness to step in on various projects as needed.
