Digital Communications Associate

plays a critical role in executing the Office of Advancement's digital channel strategy, which incorporates email, web, and social media outreach to Georgetown's alumni, donors, and supporters. This role includes a combination of digital marketing and technical support of OA communications strategies and goals. The Digital Communications Associate shows enthusiasm about learning and applying digital marketing best practices, with a focus on email marketing and operations, to support university outreach. The Digital Communications Associate is an excellent individual contributor and a team player, with a commitment to engaging diverse audiences, and has the ability to work effectively while managing multiple tasks. Duties include, but are not limited to:Email Marketing Execution and Support

Manage broadcast email requests assigned to the communications team, prioritize requests in consultation with team members, and communicate with requestors.Obtain appropriate graphics for applicable emails ensuring usability and accessibility and staying consistent with the university visual identity.Build email jobs, ensure email quality, and ensure copyediting completion.Write data queries (ranging from simple to complex) and ensure the accuracy of recipient lists.Schedule and send emails, confirm delivery, and assess abnormal negative delivery rates.Support team efforts to enforce best practices, business processes, and governance models.Compile email analytics for university partners to contextualize email performance metrics within partners' larger communication goals.Mobile App Execution and User Support

Contribute to the design, testing, releasing, and support of the mobile application during Georgetown's signature events.Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of the mobile application.Collaborate with the team to define, design, and implement new features.Provide exceptional relationship management to alumni leaders, empowering them with the tools to host events to promote fundraising for regional clubs and classes (i.e. GoDesk for alumni volunteer leaders).Web and Social Media Marketing Execution and Support

Assist the team in maintaining dynamic daily presences on institutional digital channels.Supplement web development team efforts by updating content and graphic elements of established web pages/microsites, as assigned.Translate marketing or informational content into components for a website, social media posts, or other multimedia platform design.Work Interactions The Digital Communications Associate is a junior member of the Digital Channel Strategy team, a subgroup of designers, developers, and content creators in Advancement's Communications department. This team is responsible for managing broadcast emails, websites, social media platforms, and mobile apps that work in service of Georgetown University's fundraising and alumni and donor engagement goals. This role supports the content execution for Advancement's digital communications channels and reports to the Associate Director, Email Operations. A major function of this role will be building and scheduling broadcast emails as part of Advancement's email operations, and tackling projects associated with event mobile apps and externally-facing web and social media campaigns for fundraising and engagement. In addition, this role will support staff and alumni users in the Salesforce CRM platform GU360, Marketing Cloud, Encompass (iModules), WordPress sites, and other digital channels/systems governed by the team.Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.Experience working with content management systems (e.g., WordPress), email delivery systems (e.g., Marketing Cloud), and/or campaigns on social media channels (Facebook Pages, Twitter, and/or Instagram accounts).Ability to learn and use content management systems for specific campaigns, such as dashboards for event mobile apps.Working knowledge of and ability to apply digital marketing best practices with strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong relationship management skills and attention to detail with proclivity towards collaboration.Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate among complex tasks and systems.A respectful, inclusive approach to building relationships through digital projects, recommending language and assets that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion to engage diverse audiences.Sound judgment and comfort working in a dynamic environment with multiple partners and audiences.No official certifications are required, however demonstrating interest, experience, and eagerness to learn best practices of modern web design, email, and communications strategies is required.Work Mode Designation This position has been designated as
