Our client is seeking a highly motivated Technical Software Content Writer & Editor with GIS knowledge and experience. This role involves creating and communicating workflows and new developments that promote our software to a worldwide audience. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys learning and generating content about new GIS and geodesy tools, workflows, industry examples, and more through digital, print, and social media. A successful candidate will have experience in the GIS industry, producing content about geospatial topics, familiarity with our products, and a passion for communication.


Responsibilities of the Content Writer & Editor include:

  • Produce well-researched, validated, and high-quality content for publication online and in print, adhering to brand guidelines.
  • Research Industry Showcases and work with customers to write Case Studies demonstrating and advertising the wide range of uses of the software.
  • Create blogs and written workflows to inspire and assist current and potential customers.
  • Maintain open communication with Sales, Product Management, and the Training Manager to identify customers needs and produce content that is highly relevant to target audiences.
  • Proofread and edit content produced by other marketing team members, paying close attention to detail and validating software-related statements.
  • Organize and maintain an editorial calendar with the Marketing Directors assistance, ensuring all editorial deadlines are met.
  • Stay current on product features, occasionally assisting with customer training and product demos.
  • Utilize industry best practices and knowledge of the organizations mission and goals to inspire ideas for engaging content in various formats written, audio, video, and graphic.
  • Use search engine optimization (SEO) strategies in writing to maximize the online visibility of webpages in search results.
  • Contact clients for interviews to produce case studies.
  • Travel and represent the company at conferences when needed.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Geography, Technology, GIS, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of GIS software.
  • Experience in GIS, geodesy, or scientific technical writing.
  • Excellent technical writing skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and consistently meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing tactics, including SEO, email marketing, and web analytics.
  • HTML knowledge and experience using WordPress preferred.
  • Excellent eye for detail.


The expected salary for this role is 75-85K; full benefits and relocation assistance available.
