Who is Pioneer Golf?
- A well-established, Scottish-owned golf travel company in Austin, TX (located at Bee Cave Rd & Loop 360) that organizes hundreds of international golf trips for its mostly American and Canadian customers. Our clients are groups of friends or fellow country club members that are headed abroad for a golf trip.
- One of the two largest golf tour operators servicing Scotland. Scotland is the #1 destination worldwide for the traveling golfer. The third or fourth largest golf tour operator servicing Ireland/Northern Ireland (the #2 destination worldwide).
- An official distributor of tee times for the St Andrews Old Course, arguably the most famous golf course in the world and certainly the oldest.
- Current focus is Scotland and Ireland but expanding destination offerings and looking forward to growing significantly over the next few years.
- Currently, we are a team of less than 30 individuals.
- The company is well-poised to grow significantly, and we are in the process of building a great team. Revenues and staff have doubled in the past 1.5 years.
Job Description:
We’re seeking a results-driven marketing professional with a strong B2C background, specializing in lead generation campaigns to support our sales pipeline. This role requires expertise in planning and executing measurable marketing programs, with a focus on optimizing resources for the best returns.
As Director of Marketing at Pioneer Golf, you’ll build and implement the foundational strategy, structure, and processes of our marketing plan. You’ll operate autonomously, balancing high-level strategy with hands-on execution. This role demands a blend of strategic insight, creative problem-solving, and analytical skills to drive optimized campaigns and measurable outcomes.
You will collaborate across internal and external teams, ensuring clear communication and applying your technical expertise and building a MarTech ecosystem. You’ll manage our marketing database, segmenting audiences, and identifying new campaign opportunities to continually engage our target segments.
Key responsibilities include planning, managing, and executing data-driven digital marketing efforts to boost sales and brand presence. You’ll oversee lead generation, website updates, SEO/SEM, CRO, paid search, social media, email marketing, content management, and explore new marketing channels.
This position is 100% in office (i.e., not hybrid or remote). Full-time, Monday through Friday 7:00am to 4:00pm although in off-season there is an option to have every other Friday off.

Responsibilities
- Oversee project management, timelines, and execution across all marketing initiatives.
- Manage 3rd party resources (contractors) and build a team over time.
- Manage and prioritize the marketing budget to maximize lead generation and ROI.
- Develop and implement cost-effective lead generation strategies, including SEO, email marketing, PPC, social media, and new channels.
- Create automated programs to nurture web traffic and existing inquiries into sales-ready leads.
- Measure customer acquisition costs and ROI across all marketing channels, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Analyze market conditions, industry trends, and competitors to identify new opportunities.
- Establish scalable processes for driving lead volume and pipeline progression.
- Focus on lead management, program automation, and database segmentation for effective nurturing.
- Lead reporting efforts, including campaign ROI analysis, data visualization, and insights.
- Ensure data quality and collection integrity across the marketing database.
- Improve marketing systems, software integrations, and workflows for more efficient operations.
- Create templates, landing pages, forms, and emails that support campaign execution.
- Monitor and develop reporting dashboards to provide real-time insights into performance, with recommendations for optimization.
- Enhance marketing operations processes for scalability, testing, and reporting efficiency.
- Develop tracking methodologies to measure the ROI of marketing programs, including paid and organic efforts.
- Collaborate with sales and leadership on high-level budget and strategic decisions.
Desired Qualifications/Experience
- 10+ years of marketing operations experience
- 5+ years experience with B2C online marketing programs preferably in the golf or travel industry, with a focus on lead generation.
- Demonstrated success in online lead generation
- Tech-savvy, with a knowledge of marketing technologies (CRM, marketing automation, web analytics)
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proven track record of online and digital marketing, ideally within the travel or golf industry combined with experience in managing successful campaigns across multiple platforms to achieve
- Strong technical acumen.
- Data driven and highly competent in using data to make informed business decisions, and implement marketing activities and strategies
- Expertise with a wide variety of lead generation tactics, including SEO, email marketing, content marketing, PPC, and social media coupled with ability to manage contractors or a small team to execute objectives.
- Superb analytical and problem-solving capabilities—think in “if-then statements”
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Proven experience in managing people and building a strong/positive culture to foster a high performing team
- Deep understanding of attribution and conversion metrics, as well as knowledge of analytics measurements and MarTech platforms (Google Analytics, AdWords, etc.).
- Knowledge or passion of golf and/or travel is a plus
