The News-Herald, an award-winning weekly newspaper in Loudon County seeks an enterprising general assignment reporter who has a passion for telling compelling stories that impact a growing community.

We’re looking for a journalist who thrives on deadlines, strives for accuracy and possesses a creative flair for our weekly papers as well as several magazines and digital products.

A bachelor’s degree in mass communications or a relevant field of study is encouraged but not required.

You also must be able to break news on our website, www.news-herald.net, and a willingness to help grow our publication’s social media presence.

The successful candidate must be able to create his or her own story ideas, work with team members to develop news/feature ideas and juggle breaking news — all under deadline pressure.
