The Assistant Interior Designer will be responsible for assisting with design projects, collaborating with the design team, creating design concepts, conducting research, communicating with clients, and participating in site visits. See details below:Client communication : Arrange meetings and consultations, greet clients, and respond to phone calls and emailsSocial Media / Website Admin : consistently plan out our social media posts as well as update our website with new, completed, and in progress projectsProject management : Prepare budgets and schedules, and collaborate with contractors on deliveries and installationsProduct sourcing : Research and source finish materials, fabrics, lighting, and furnitureDesign development : Create space plans, floor plans, and CAD drawingsSample preparation : Provide samples and mock-ups to clients and designersAdministrative support : Update client databases, handle correspondence, and help to maintain an orderly officeVendor coordination : Deal with vendors such as furniture suppliers, hardware stores, and contractorsInstallation support : Prepare partners and vendors with information for installation, and provide tools and to-do lists during installationQualifications:Bachelor's degree in interior design or relative fieldProficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Microsoft Office (Excel) and Adobe Creative SuiteMust be knowledgeable in interior design principles, materials, and furnishings, as well as current design trendsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsIdeally local to Rhode Island, and can easily commute 5x a week to Newport, RI.Any experience in Social Media or Website Design is a plusPrevious experience or internships in interior design is a plusWe are looking for a creative individual who shares our passion for designing happy, functional, and timeless spaces for our wonderful clients.
