We are looking for a candidate with water and/or municipal experience to serve as a senior designer on local and statewide water and transportation projects. The candidate will have the opportunity to coordinate with and support Midwest and national clients and projects through our Central States Office and firmwide practice. This opportunity entails being responsible for assisting assigned department by performing engineering-related tasks including research, development, calculations, design and delivery on assigned project(s). Leverages technical knowledge to assist in the execution and evaluation of project designs. Develops conceptual and detailed designs and calculations to support the project execution using current drawing and technical tools, programs, and software.

What You'll Do:

Responsible for completion of discipline engineering project elements such as reports, designs, specifications, and plans.

Coordinates with engineer when plans are ready to be signed.

Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.

Assists the engineer in outlining objectives, requirements, and design approaches.

Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field and 6 years of relevant experience, or

Associate's degree in Drafting or related field and 8 years of relevant experience, or

In lieu of education, 10 years of related experience

What You'll Bring:

Ability to work effectively and participate in working relationships with clients and sub-contractors.

Ability to work from minimal design sketches and produce significantly complete plans with minimal supervision

Proficient in CADD Design software such as Autodesk, Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Connect Open Roads Designer is required.

Proficiency with the terminology of water/municipal design and drafting.

Ability to express your ideas and questions clearly when discussing design with your team.

What We Prefer:

10+ years practical experience

Good time management skills

Good communication skills to include the use of remote technology to collaborate and train

Experience with 3D modeling

Leadership skills

Familiarity with water and municipal engineering practices

Local water and municipal client experience

Active engagement in professional and/or civic organizations
