The right candidate will join a vibrant team of journalists who remain on the cutting edge of this constantly changing field.JOB DESCRIPTION: The duties for this position include anchoring for the 5pm newscast and reporting for early evening newscasts. Daily work includes story selection, working an assigned beat, shooting/editing video, news writing, writing for the web and copyediting. Employee may be called upon to do live reporting, web reporting, social media posting, and other duties as assigned.SKILLS: The right candidate must be an effective communicator, strong writer, enterprising reporter, proficient with social media and have a professional on-camera appearance. In today's multi-media newsroom, the successful candidate will have the skills to do a wide variety of tasks and a willingness to take on different responsibilities as needed.HOURS/SCHEDULE: This is a full-time position, scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:30a-6:30p with flexibility required by the employee.EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION: On-air news experience is preferred along with a bachelor's degree in journalism, communication or a related field.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The position will require operation of a company vehicle or a personal vehicle for business use.
