Senior Content Strategist

To advance the purpose of InterVarsity, the position will serve on the Editorial Team within InterVarsity's national communications department.
As a member of InterVarsity's national communications department, you'll join a creative community serving God through communications that amplify InterVarsity's mission on campus. This mission-focused team pursues professional excellence as it stewards InterVarsity's brand and strategic messaging priorities.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be a maturing disciple of Jesus Christ: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the worldSeek Him and follow Him in every area of lifeGrow in love for God through the classic disciplines of the Christian lifeModel the Biblical lifestyleDevelop and deepen your understanding of what it means to be a Christian communicatorDevelop communications that promote the ministries of InterVarsity:
Produce written communications for multiple audiences, for a variety of channels, including websites, blogs, newsletters, marketing campaigns, social media campaigns, ministry resources, and internal and external communications.Write and proofread content according to InterVarsity's editorial style guide and AP style.Work collaboratively on communications content as assigned.Meet deadlines for projects.Keep organized filesUse project management software (Wrike).Plan, write, edit and manage content on InterVarsity websites using Drupal content management system.Plan, write, edit and manage content on InterVarsity social media channels, and monitor engagement and effectivenessCoordinate projects, schedules and timelines.Take into account InterVarsity's brand, ministry goals and the needs of multiple audiences as you develop communications for multiple departments.Contribute to the team effort:
Collaborate with other teams and departmentsConsult with other departments and organizational leaders on goals, messaging, tactics.Practice thoughtful and productive inter-personal communication with colleaguesReceive feedback and critique from colleagues and supervisor as a part of the editorial process.Maintain professional growth and involvement:
Stay informed about the culture of college campuses and the chapter activities of InterVarsityVisit campus settings periodicallyAttend and serve onsite at InterVarsity conferences and eventsLearn new technologies, platforms and skills.Maintain sound financial status:
Raise personal support at the level assigned by supervisorDevelop and maintain a small group of people who covenant to support your ministry with prayerCommunicate regularly with donors and ministry partnersQUALIFICATIONS
Annual affirm InterVarsity's Statement of AgreementBachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, English, Communications or Writing.Passion for campus ministry, and desire to see students and faculty grow in their relationship with ChristPrevious relevant experience desired.Familiarity with InterVarsity's ministry.Strong writing and proofreading skills, and attention to detail.Ability to meet deadlines and balance multiple projects.Theological acuity and knowledge of Biblical text.The Editorial team develops the following kinds of communications :
Stories of student transformation that show the impact of InterVarsity's ministryCopywriting for marketing campaignsBlogs and essaysPress releasesEmail newsletters (for internal and external audiences)Event communicationsVideo scriptsWriting on behalf of the presidentServe senior leadership to prepare communications for strategiCollaborate with InterVarsity departments to develop tools for ministry, including internal training and campus ministry resources.Marketing campaignsSpeechesChannels include:

and other websites, as well as internal communications, earned media and InterVarsity social media (Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, Twitter, Email, Website, DM, PR channels, etc.).
Pay Range: $49,296.00 - $65,724.00 per year
