Tavistock Real Estate Management Services is searching for an associate to develop full sets of interior design construction documents for the Marina Residences of a luxury resort community located on New Providence in The Bahamas. The Architectural Design Associate will take direction from the Senior FF&E Designers, Senior Designers, and Senior Architectural Designer to properly execute the intended design direction in document form.

Requirements

  • Create full interior design construction documents in AutoCAD-including, but not limited to, floorplans, plumbing fixture locations, dimensioned electrical outlet plans, reflected ceiling plans, lighting plans, flooring pattern and tile layouts, interior elevations, sections, and details
  • Create finish schedules-including, but not limited to, door and hardware, floor and wall finishes, countertops, cabinetry, plumbing, appliances, and lighting fixtures
  • Utilize space planning skills to create customized floor plan designs in AutoCAD for high-end residential condominiums based on Senior Designer/Owner input and rough sketches
  • Review quotes, shop drawings (countertop, millwork, doors, etc.),electrical, lighting, and switching plans
  • Work closely with onsite construction managers to answer any interior design related questions and RFIs in order to ensure the designs are being correctly and accurately executed
  • Maintain an organized filing system for all design drawings
  • Travel to The Bahamas periodically to perform project site visits


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • AA or AS degree in Design, Drafting, or a related field
  • Three to six years of drafting experience for an interior design or architectural firm (residential experience preferred)
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel;3D Design a plus
  • Working knowledge of ADA requirements and review of design documents for compliance
  • Experience with MEP and HVAC plans
  • Reviews & markups of floor plans, detailed millwork/casework shop drawings, electrical drawings and lighting plans
  • Ability to be a team player with a positive attitude in a very fast paced design environment
  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport


ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be physically able to do assigned work as outlined above. Must be physically able to sit and use the computer for hours at a time
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions
