Food City Interns work on meaningful projects spanning all solutions and services throughout the company. Created for upcoming Junior and Senior college students, our full-time (40 hours/week), 12-week programs are designed to provide hands-on experience within your area of interest. As an Intern, you will join over 19,000 talented individuals across five states who are leaders, critical thinkers, accountable, innovative, flexible, and results-minded with the same goal - to better serve our communities.

We have three great opportunities available within our Marketing-Advertising Department for Summer 2025; Graphic Design, Social Media, and Ad Production Designer. Please indicate on your cover letter which position you are interested in applying to.
Graphic Design Description:
As a Graphic Designer intern, you will help produce engaging content that reflects our brand's identity across print and digital media. You'll collaborate with the creative team to design visually appealing materials that align with the company's brand and goals. The ideal candidate is creative, has a student portfolio that reflects solid design and typography skills, and is passionate about design, storytelling, and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop original design work for print, social media, and other digital platformsEnsure all work follows brand guidelinesAssist with photo and video productionSocial Media Description:
As a Social Media intern, you will support the company by creating content for our social media channels. You'll help develop our online presence by crafting engaging posts, analyzing performance, trends and competitor activity. You'll also ensuring that content aligns with the company's brand voice. The ideal candidate is creative with a passion for social media and online community branding.

As you launch your career as an Ad Production Designer with Food City, you will focus on creating and developing visual assets for advertising, promotion, and online presence. You will apply your creativity and design skills to generate enticing, memorable designs that align with the brand's identity and appeal to our target demographic. This project will be focused on designing ad circular pages, digital assets and in-store signage along with proofing design work for accuracy. In addition, you will also review competitor work and look for best practice opportunities. There will also be opportunities to attend functions focusing on other areas of the marketing department (television production, store openings/visits, etc.)
Program Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a college or university as a Junior or Senior, majoring in a relevant field of study.Recently graduated with an undergraduate degree and are currently majority in a relevant field of study.Minimum 3.0 GPA, cumulative.Strong portfolio of student workProficient use of common design tools and softwareHave strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.Ability to preserve confidentiality of company information.Ability to work with own initiative.Desire to participate and learn from the experience.Not Required, but Encouraged:
Previous experience in a professional work environmentParticipation in leadership rolesCommunity involvement and volunteerismDocumentation Requirements:
