Get your pen ready, and help us continue to write our next chapter.Key Responsibilities:The Senior Manager - Advertising Business Affairs will manage content rights and licensing for integrated advertising campaigns and content creator partnerships in the U.S. and international markets that promote United brand consideration, preference and passion.We’re seeking an experienced business affairs and talent professional with deep knowledge of the advertising and entertainment industries. The position requires knowledge of SAG-AFTRA, AFM and other unions and their collective bargaining agreements; experience estimating costs and drafting agreements for on-camera actors, influencer, voiceover and music talent; and contract negotiations skills.A high level of organization and ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-drive environment will be vital for this role. A customer service approach is essential, as we strive to provide support and timely responses to internal United business partners and external agencies and vendors.This position is an individual contributor and is considered hybrid, requiring both remote and in-office work at least 2-3 days per month at United’s Chicago headquarters. It is preferred that this role is Chicago-based and may require travel to U.S. cities for company events, productions and meetings.Business affairs functionBuild and lead business affairs within United’s Global Advertising and Social Media team and serve as the commercial advertising point person regarding policies and rights management involving the talent unions SAG-AFTRA, AFM and othersPartner with in-house Content, Film, Operations and Strategy team members as well as external agencies and production companies on a range of brand advertising projects and campaign budget sizesAdvise teams before and after production on how the talent classification of on-camera principals and extras plus media distribution plans impact budgetBuild and maintain relationships with talent agents, managers and external partners involved in brand production, partnerships, legal and rights managementImplement business affairs best practices, processes and workflowsStay up to date on changes to SAG-AFTRA commercials and other contractsPrevious experience working directly with SAG-AFTRA and related entities is requiredContract managementDraft agreements with internal teams and external agencies and production companies for talent and licensing contracts and statements of workWrite, revise and directly negotiate contracts and talent representativesDraft and submit low-budget digital waivers and other documentation where appropriateFinancial operationsResponsible for the operating budget for on-camera and voiceover principals, talent extras, residuals, stock footage, logos, music and renewalsDirectly manage cost estimates, licensing fees and holding fees for range of brand advertising content produced and distributed in house. Estimates to be based on media plans, casting and usage across linear TV, streaming services, online video, programmatic, digital and social media, out of home, cinema, experiential, print, radio, podcasts and eventsReview and manage cost estimates from agency and production company partnersManage renewals of advertising and social media assets produced by United, creative agency of record and production partners based on in-market dates and media channelsManage ongoing finances, monthly forecasting and billing with Director and Financial Planning and Analysis teamUnited values diverse experiences, perspectives, and we encourage everyone who meets the minimum qualifications to apply.
