CAD Artist/Print Designer - Girls

Komar, a global leader in the design, sourcing, manufacturing and distribution of apparel with a diverse portfolio of owned, licensed and private label brands, has an immediate opportunity for a CAD Artist/Print Designer who specializes in Girls NB - 16 to join our Komar Kids team. Candidates must be able to work in our Jersey City, NJ office.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative prints and designs for Girl’s fashion sleepwear sizes NB – 16 using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Translate and interpret current trends to create original prints for sleepwear.
• Design all over, engineered and placement prints.
• Color match, generate and update digital color palettes.
• Work closely with design team to set concept, color, and print direction consistent with brand strategies.
• Ability to communicate print and color direction to design team.
• Color all artwork to seasonal palette specifications; create repeats of prints.
• Scan, clean and create repeats from purchased art work.
• Color separate and prepare detail artwork for factory.
• Research current trends in print design and color.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience designing original prints using Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Advanced technical skills using Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience.
• Possess a strong sense of color/print.
• Experience working with print vendors.
• Ability to work at a fast pace and adhere to a design development calendar.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Textiles & Surface Design or related degree preferred.
