We create compelling graphics and branded material that is displayed across the organization including but not limited to social media, website, reports and fact sheets, press materials, events, and presentations. Our work has a digital focus, but print projects are a part of the mix.We are looking for a talented Visual & Motion Junior Designer to join our team and create meaningful and impactful designs. This hybrid role will allow you to showcase your visual design and motion graphics skills.OverviewThe Jr. Graphic Designer within our Creative Group is responsible for creating and maintaining graphic assets in line with brand aesthetics and standards. This position requires proficiency in graphic design for print and digital media and a mastery of tools such as Figma, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects. Key attributes for success include meticulous attention to detail, strong production knowledge, a discerning design sensibility and ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.If you have a passion for design and a keen eye for detail and craft, we would love to know more about you.RequirementsWhat you’ll be responsible for:Design visual components for projects, encompassing typography, color, layout, and imagery, ensuring designs align with project objectivesBe hands-on and execute a high volume of well-crafted assets for advertising, social media, event graphics, and collateral, reports, fact sheets, branding materials, infographics, corporate website art, and press materialsCollaborate with the design team in-person to conceptualize and execute larger campaigns and quick-turn one-offs.Design for and execute motion design assetsUnderstand the brand’s goals, strategy, and tone of voice. Become a brand keeper that helps elevate the brand's look, feel, and toneParticipate in briefs and reviews. Take feedback and deliver positive resultsReport to the Design Director and Executive Creative Director and communicate openly about timelines, resources, requirements, etc.The skills and experience you should have:3+ years of graphic design and production experienceHigh energy and initiative, with exceptional organizational skills and a sharp eye for detail; able to multitask in a fast-paced environment while managing complex projectsStrong proficiency in design principles, including layout, typography, color theory, composition, and awareness of current design trendsA robust digital portfolio showcasing diverse design workExperience in editorial and layout design, including reports, fact sheets, infographics, and magazinesExpertise in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and FigmaUnderstanding of pre-press and printing processesExperience in Out of Home and large-format productionA solid grasp of creative and production workflowsSkills in photo color correction and retouchingExcellent time management and problem-solving abilitiesStrong verbal and written communication skillsA positive attitude and commitment to collaboration within a teamIllustration and photography skills are a plusBenefitsMedical/Dental benefits including of 1K Health Reimbursement AccountMatching 401KGenerous PTO policySubstantial Parental Leave PolicyHybrid Work Environment (4 days on-site in Philadelphia, PA)Curious about your career path at Athena?
