Job Description
KOCO-TV, the ABC affiliate in Oklahoma City, is looking for a high-energy weekend morning anchor reporter with proven leadership skills to join our team. In addition to credibility, poise, and personality; we're looking for an anchor who isn't afraid to head out into the field and break the big stories. We are looking for a versatile, enterprising self-starter who is fast, efficient, works well under tight deadlines, can develop sources, and isn't afraid to jump into newscast scripts. We are looking for a weekend morning anchor who can be a newsroom leader with a positive drive to make a difference in our newscasts and in our community.
ResponsibilitiesDeliver scripted and ad lib material with professionalism, personality, and purposeReport from the field as directed by managementHave an active presence on social media that engages the audienceAn ability to summarize information into easy-to-understand componentsUnwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standardsAppears on behalf of the station at public eventsOther duties within newscasts as directed by managementRequirements
Proven ability to connect with viewersAbility to work varied shifts, including overnights, mornings and weekendsCan deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast productionDemonstrated ability with digital media and social media2 years anchoring experience preferredMinimum 2 years reporting experienceDemonstrated ability to enterprise and uncover storiesYour demo reel should be indicative of your everyday workRelated military experience will be consideredDiversity Statement
