The pay range is $125,600.00 - $226,100.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. The Content Director is responsible for co-leading the team that creates content across owned channels in partnership with the creative and platform teams, and Enterprise Communications as a whole. They ensure the team's work reflects the style, voice and audience needs of the given channel, and develop content for high-profile, complex projects. They demonstrate leadership across Enterprise Communications, building partnerships and leading efforts across capabilities to support the broader team's strategic roadmap and talent development. As Director of Communications, Content, you will: Co-lead the content team and develop best-in-class content talent, including: Leading talent development routines for the team and participating in pyramid routines to ensure coaching and development, training and growth and ongoing recognition Driving content team to strategize and execute, and bringing both business-led and audience-led content to life Creating and maintaining a positive team culture by demonstrating behaviors consistent with Target's values of Inclusivity, Connection and Drive Overseeing contractors and their work to be in line with Target's needs and expectations Be responsible for quality content, including: Editing content managers' and contractors' work to ensure clarity of message, tone of voice, and alignment to audience needs Developing high visibility content that requires additional leadership and expertise, including but not limited to: Leadership announcements, material announcements, crisis, highly complex and time sensitive content Setting and enforcing quality standards for content produced and establishing routines and development opportunities that continuously advance the work Collaborate across communications leadership team to evolve our storytelling capabilities, including: Owning storytelling strategy, health and evolution of content of owned channels, including one of the following: corporate site content strategy and governance, press release process; or internal email channels and social media accounts Partnering with other directors to foster collaboration among creative, content, platforms & intelligence and team member engagement teams Maintaining a sharp knowledge of content and media trends through conferences, benchmarking and consumption of the external landscape via a variety of internal and external experiences, resources and networks Analyzing audience insights and fostering conversation and team actions that keep Target's content evolving Other duties as assigned Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. About You: College degree or equivalent experience Minimum of 10 years of relevant corporate communications experience to include expertise across digital storytelling channels (email, web, social media), and the ability to influence channel selection based upon content and storytelling objectives 3+ years of progressive leadership experience Experience building and developing a diverse team of functional experts, specifically in editorial, content and/or communications Ability to manage ambiguity, facilitate meetings with senior leaders, resolve conflict, build consensus, establish rapport and collaborate effectively, internally and externally, across all levels of an organization up to and including the Leadership Team and board of directors Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) In compliance with state and federal laws, Target will make reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities.
